Is Europe Losing its Edge in the Automotive Industry? The European automotive sector, including major players in Germany, France, and Italy, is falling behind on the global stage. High labor costs and low levels of innovation are stifling growth. The internal combustion engine ban, set to take effect in 2035, could be the final blow for giants like Stellantis and Volkswagen. While the rest of the world embraces technological diversity—rightly so, given that only 3% of the 1.4 billion vehicles globally are electric—Europe aims to set an example. But in doing so, it risks pushing its own automotive industry to the brink. Is Europe’s ambition to lead actually leading us astray? Let me know your thoughts in the comments! #MakeTechnologySexy #AutomotiveIndustry #Innovation #ElectricVehicles #FutureOfMobility

Retelling the Future of Automotive 🚀🌐 I was incredibly pleased to scroll through the latest VDE study today. 30 opinion leaders from business and politics have formulated their position on the future of Germany as an automotive location. And I couldn't agree more with them – especially on their last point. My three key takeaways: 👉 #electromobility is not a vision, it is inevitable! It's so clear that electric vehicles (EVs) are the future. With global consensus building around the environmental and economic benefits of EVs, it's imperative that we embrace and accelerate the shift towards electrification. This isn't just about compliance with environmental mandates; it's about seizing the economic upper hand in a rapidly evolving market. 👉 That means: We do need #digitalskills at the forefront! The pivot to electrification is inextricably linked with digitalization. As digital capabilities become increasingly crucial, the automotive industry faces a pressing need for talent skilled in software and artificial intelligence. Addressing this talent shortage requires a collaborative effort between governments and businesses to foster and harness these essential skills. 👉 And that is crucial to me: Let’s rebuild our #Narrative! It's vital to reshape the narrative around the automotive industry. Previous challenges have passed. Technology must not be seen as a barrier but as a beacon for ecological innovation. We all need to help develop a narrative that positions the automotive industry 🚗 as a leader in sustainable and responsible manufacturing. 🔍 These pillars are foundational to our approach at Audi Business Innovation GmbH. By focusing on these areas, we are not just preparing for the future; we're actively creating it. Join us as we redefine the landscape of mobility and drive towards a more sustainable and digitally integrated future. #AutomotiveInnovation #DigitalTransformation #Sustainability #Electrification #FutureOfMobility
