Thanks for your work on this Peter Chauvel & team - really exciting to imagine how this might change how we work with materials at scale, especially integrating into reverse logistics strategy for existing high-production systems like manufacturing and packaging. Cleaning smarter, not harder! At 4ocean, we’re always looking for ways to improve our operations and maximize our impact. One tool that’s making a huge difference in our cleanup efforts is the baler. This hydraulic press compresses plastic waste into compact, transportable bales, making the recycling process far more efficient. Why is this important? 
1️⃣ Increased Efficiency: Lightweight plastics take up an enormous amount of space. The baler allows us to transport significantly larger amounts in fewer trips, saving time and resources.

At Recy & DepoTech 2024 in Leoben, our collegues Christine Bertl and Helen Dolinšek shared their work on two exciting EU-funded projects: Inspire Europe and SYMBIO project. Organized by Montanuniversität Leoben's Chair of Waste Processing Technology and Waste Management, this event is a key European platform for innovation in resource management and the circular economy. Christine and Helen introduced INSPIRE, a project tackling plastic pollution by focusing on prevention at the source. By implementing upstream solutions, INSPIRE aims to cut plastic waste before it even enters the environment—an essential approach to combatting microplastics. The presentation sparked interest and led to connections with bündnis mikroplastikfrei, opening doors to partnerships for cleaner ecosystems. They also showcased SYMBIO, a project that brings industrial symbiosis to life. SYMBIO highlights how waste from one industry can be repurposed as a resource for another, supporting circularity and cutting environmental impact. It was great connecting with other stakeholders who share our passion for sustainability and circularity.
