Hey Founders & Entrepreneurs! 🚀 You deserve growth, freedom and meaning by building superhero teams.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁: 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 Do you agree? We often hear that employees are the heart of a company, but how often do we truly act on it? I’ve seen firsthand how companies that genuinely care about their teams end up thriving. It’s not just about ticking boxes or offering perks—it's about creating a place where people feel valued, where their work has meaning, and where they’re excited to show up every day. In my experience, when you treat your employees as your most important customers, everything changes. They become more engaged, more loyal, and ultimately, they deliver better results. It’s a simple idea, but it’s incredibly powerful. So, how are you treating your team? Are you really listening to them, supporting them, and showing them that they matter? Their satisfaction is more than just a nice-to-have—it could be the key to your company’s success. Let’s chat more about this, because thi𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲.

Gotta love a reminder about the first day basics for new hires. You wouldn't believe how many businesses miss some or all of these. Trust starts building from the moment a candidate starts engaging with your brand. From your careers page, to the job ad, from the phone screen to the face to face interview, from the contract to the first day when they become an employee. And that trust is yours to lose. You've got to keep that trust train going 🚂 As a SME owner I needed help getting this right. I was so focused on what I needed the new person to deliver (asap) that I missed some of the basics to help them get their feet under the desk. So I got the whole team to help make new starters feel the first day, week, month buzz. It all started with creating a first day tick list. Yup, it's that easy. 😉 Onside NZ #recruitmentservices #SMENZ #startuplife #hiring #induction
Retaining new staff can be tricky, but it doesn't need to be. By focusing on the basics, building connections, and keeping communication open, you can create an environment where new hires feel valued and stick around for the long haul. These 5 simple steps will help you keep your team happy and engaged from day one! For more tips, you can reach out to us at Onside NZ! Dale Clareburt Jason Turner Rachael Whiteman

Yall, I am so bad at keeping good news quiet 🤣 I lasted a whole 9 days but it’s time to spill the beans… Starting in June, I am thrilled to be joining Otelier as the Director of Sales Enablement! A few reasons why I knew this was the right fit for me: - The role reports directly to the CRO: Strategic enablement can’t happen without support from and proximity to the executive team. - Build Mode: this is the first Enablement hire for Otelier and I’ll be building the function from the ground up. - Hybrid working: it’s not for everyone, but for me, having a physical space to go to for work makes a huge difference in my own productivity, and working face to face with the team makes a huge impact. - All the nuts and bolts that make a company worth working for: these are different for everyone, but for me things like flexible PTO, 100% paid healthcare, getting to pick between a Mac or PC, etc… just things that show the company wants people to have what they need to do their best work, and have what they need for life outside work. Huge thanks to Jim Trimarco and the team for a great interview process, and making this an easy “yes!” from my end.

At Penbrothers, we prioritize team building every quarter. These events are more than just activities—they're opportunities to deepen relationships and foster open communication. Our team eagerly anticipates these gatherings, which have forged bonds that are incredibly resilient. These events have also been instrumental in my growth as a leader. They allow me to see my team members beyond the confines of the office. Through these interactions, I learn about their passions, challenges, sources of joy, and core values. This insight helps me create an environment where there are no barriers between us. I'd like to introduce my Finance and HR team. These amazing individuals have taught me compassion, the importance of trusting the process, flexibility, when to push and when to pull, how to embrace a childlike spirit at times, the power of laughter, the value of shared moments, and the strength of kindness in tough situations. Most importantly, they've shown me the value of humility. Thank you, team, for your hard work, long hours, commitment, patience, and trust. You all rock! Looking forward to our Q3 team-building Cheers to the leaders and amazing peeps of Fin and HR and see you in our Q3 team building. 🎂 Hencove Turns 10 🎂 May was a big month for the ‘Cove Crew. We turned 10, a milestone made possible by a combo of a dedicated and creative team, partnership-oriented clients, and some good ol’ fashioned luck. It’s been a wild ride, and we’re excited for the next decade, and beyond. Our team celebrated this occasion by convening for two days at an “off-site” – a.k.a., our beautiful office in Watertown – building communications skills and creating stronger relationships with colleagues. The theme for our time together was connections. A few folks on our team recapped the lessons learned, and I encourage you to read their insights highlighted in our monthly newsletter (or directly on our website). The theme – connections – was an a-ha moment for us. For years, we’ve focused on building stories. Like many creative agencies, we view our role as crafting the perfect story unique to each business, and then spreading that message. And that’s not wrong. But that’s not all we do. We’ve discovered that stories are simply the “how”; stories are the vehicle. Connections are the “why”; connections are the journey and the destination. Pick your industry, pick your product or service. Your success depends on your ability to create meaningful connections. We simply use stories to create connections. Thank you to everyone along the way – for the connections made and maintained. We’re excited for what’s to come. Hencove
