Sometimes during pregnancy and postpartum we can feel alone, even when surrounded by people or with our child asleep on our chest. It is ok to feel this way, but it's not ok to feel like you can't talk about it. This World Mental Health Day think about the mothers, or mothers to be, in your life and let them know you are there to hold their hand through the fog. #mentalhealthawareness #postpartumhealth #EndTheStigma #HealthEducation iheed - Transcending boundaries, Transforming Medical Education

The story of @Kim O'Neill, who faced symptoms of postpartum depression after the birth of her daughter, highlights a critical issue that can affect many women but may not be discussed openly. Kim’s transition from the joy of pregnancy to struggling with intense feelings of sadness and guilt postpartum serves as a stark reminder of the importance of mental health support for mothers. As a Chief Medical Officer and a mother, I am deeply moved by Kim's determination to use her experience to help others. Her message is clear: it's okay to seek help, and doing so does not diminish your strength or love as a mother. To all the mothers experiencing symptoms of postpartum depression, remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Reach out, speak up, and take care of yourself. You are not alone.
For Kimberly O'Neill, Senior Neuropsych Account Manager at Sage, her pregnancy was one many women hope for, "My ankles were tree trunks, but I was healthy, happy – I loved it." But soon after the birth of her daughter, the joy she had experienced was replaced with persistent feelings of sadness, guilt, and shame. "Everyone wants to hold the baby, but no one wants to hold the mom... I know there are women out there going through a similar situation so I hope my story can serve as a reminder that sometimes, moms need to be held, too." If you're experiencing symptoms of #postpartumdepression, reach out to your healthcare provider for support. You are not alone. #OurPurposeIsPersonal

Hindsight is 20/20, but when you have multiple moms/coaches/professionals letting you know how CRUCIAL it is to prepare your mental health for pregnancy and postpartum, then you should take some solid advice. We don’t know what we don’t know, and won’t know until we learn about it. This is why perinatal transitional coaching practices are so special. We work with the mom during pregnancy and well into postpartum to assist her mental health at every step of the way. We can no longer solely focus on prepping the body without including the mind. The entire being is affected, and the sooner you learn about HOW, the more effectively you can transition into the role of mother, with a resilience, confidence, and awareness of what “might come”. I have openings for clients starting next week so if you’re curious to learn more or feel like this is something you need( it is), let’s connect. Whether you’re 5 weeks pregnant of 13 months pp you can absolutely learn from this practice. Comment below, follow the link in bio, or below to connect and set up a consult. #perinatal #perinatalmentalhealth #postpartum #pregnancyprep #maternalmentalhealth #momtobe . https://lnkd.in/dRsa3fSM
