When dealing with tank fires, the leaders in charge decide on how to approach the situation based on the facility's plans and what they find out on the ground. They might choose to let the fire burn out without interfering (passive), protect people and equipment while letting the fire burn (defensive), or aggressively try to put out the fire (offensive). These decisions should already be part of the facility's emergency plans. The actions taken should match the chosen approach, but they should also be adaptable to unexpected situations. Using available resources effectively is crucial for success. While guidelines and data are important, good judgment is key in emergencies. And regardless of the chosen strategy, it's important to inform the necessary authorities and stakeholders. #riskassessment #hseprofessionals #firemanagment #psm #processsafety #firesafety #hazardousareas #fireprotection
