A love of honey and appreciation for its antibacterial healing properties is how Jibri Knight, Senior Policy Services Manager at SageSure, started beekeeping. “You just never know what you’re going to get,” Jibri said about keeping bees. “No two days are the same for me here (at work), and no two days are the same for me when I keep my bees.” Jibri has six hives, a combination of Russian and Italian bees, and harvested 15 pounds of honey his first year from his 53-acre property—and he’s just getting started. Keepers like Jibri understand the vital role bees play in the human food supply beyond producing honey. According to Greenpeace, wild and domestic honeybees pollinate 70 out of the top 100 human food crops, accounting for around 90 percent of global nutrition. #PollinatorWeek #leadership #WhatInspiresMe #GettingThingsDone #inspiration #storytelling
