2023 has been massive. And it’s ending on a high 🚀 It started with curiosity 🧠 My curiosity led me to nail the science of revenue led growth with the GrowthX® Immersion. Over the course of 5 weeks, I learnt the A → Z of growth frameworks for top internet products. Then, we applied 🔨 I was put into a group of like-minded growth crazy folks in Team Ditto. I didn’t know it then, but it changed my trajectory. Over the next 3 weeks, we built a real world applicable growth strategy for Ditto Insurance Finally, showtime ⭐ Our growth strategy was solid, it got us into the Top 3 teams that pitched at the GX Demo Day. It was the experience of a lifetime. Presenting to a crowd of startup operators, leaders & founders while answering questions that grilled us. Amazing! GrowthX® is all about outcomes. For me, it meant taking on a dual role of People Success & GTM at Crunch, getting a chance to apply my learnings immediately, specifically around User Research and Problem Identification (something which Team Calendly absolutely aced in 🔥 ) . 2023 was a bar-raiser. 2024 will be exponential. As I bid adieu to one of the most challenging, most rewarding roles of my career - where I learned and delivered more in 1 year than probably 5 in corporate life - here are my 3 top learnings that were reiterated more than ever before in the Startup life: 1) Planning and execution with dollops of agility and pivoting is the 1st key to getting the engine started. 2) Learning fast, failing fast, and recovering just as fast is the accelerator that keeps the engine running. 3) Ultimately, it’s all about people. Finding the right mix of talent is the engine that keeps the machine going. There is no room in a start-up (which, as the name gives away, is starting its journey) for folks who don’t pull their weight or don’t have what it takes—passion, commitment, dedication, integrity, agility, and smarts are all needed in greater quantities than ever. So choose your team carefully, or the machine can’t move. Thank you, Manoj Adlakha RedBeryl _ - each of my team members who put their trust in me, gave me the courage and conviction to be in the pilot seat of driving operations & strategy for RedBeryl, and made this an incredibly fulfilling year. As I step away and return full-time to my Consulting career, I know this past year has made me so much richer in experience and, most importantly, relationships—a year that I will always look back on with pride at what I helped create and shape into what will be an incredible powerhouse in the years to come. Reflecting on this year with Thena, I can’t help but feel immense gratitude. It has really hit me this second go-around as a founder... the fact that nothing happens without the support of customers, investors, and advisors alike. My biggest mindset shift this year has been towards one of GRATITUDE – realizing how lucky we are to work with each other to build cool products, solve people's needs, and form a community. It’s ironic because it’s also been one of the hardest years of my life – the personal shift from running Branch to working on Thena full time; the tech market taking a beating; friends and colleagues losing jobs at an unprecedented rate; and trying to sell against all these headwinds. But what’s made it also one of the most rewarding years has been the PEOPLE. As we close out this year having launched Thena and scaled it way beyond what we expected possible, it all comes back to the people that made it happen.
