I am happy to share that I have gotten the privilege to be an Instuctor for the 3 days Filmmaking workshop at The Wings -Create your own wings to fly, where you will be learning various diverse skills through workshops, sessions, tutoring from peers, A platform where peer to peer learning is encouraged. I have conducted a 3 day filmmaking workshop, where some of the aspiring filmmakers, team from The Wings, and few of my friends, attended the session, and I have explained about filmmaking especially focusing on screenwriting, through examples, from films, and everyone liked and enjoyed my teaching style, I am glad that I was able to provide value to the people who attended through teaching filmmaking. There are so many things that I have learnt in this process and experience, here are a few things that I learnt: >> If you are teaching something to someone, anything, you need to understand, that you as a teacher are responsible for the student to fall in love with the subject, understand concepts and want to learn more, student might not be interested, might not be focused, ok that make sense, but if teaching is exceptional, any student with 0 focus or adhd, with 0 interest will listen and fall in love with the subject, I feel that’s the power of teaching. >> A good teacher and a good teaching has a power to make a student with 0 focus and interest fall in love with subject, and increase his skill set, I felt that we lack those passionate teachers, in school and college to a certain extent. >> If I am learning a skill and if I am having fun in the process of learning it, then chances are that if I teach that skill I wil have fun teaching it, cause there are some subjects that I won’t have fun while learning and I can’t imagine myself teaching it, so that is when I understood the value of falling in love with the subject that you are teaching, I always loved films to the core and it was my passion and had so much fun while learning it, and as a result I was having so much fun while teaching it. >> When teaching, it’s crucial to simplify and dumb down concepts and use examples to ensure everyone understands. Shifting from a lecture style to interactive discussions makes learning more engaging and effective. This approach fosters better understanding and makes the process more enjoyable. Have you ever felt why concepts taught by friend is more interesting than teacher, the main reason is dumbing it down, teachers think that students have the same knowledge as teachers, and they will not dumb down, but when a friend is explaining he will dumb down because he is kinda same age as yours, and he knows that you might not be able to understand, so as a result he dumbs it down, and that will make it clear and fun to learn, so I would like to say learn any skills at The Wings -Create your own wings to fly through workshops, sessions and tutoring, where peer to peer learning is encouraged. I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Section Leader at Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University!

Human mind has a limited memory power, and it is hard for the mind to remember certain things for a long time, Indian slokas, Upanishads, and Vedas, is filled with knowledge, and reading those vedic mantras itself is very hard and complex, but what if I tell you that my cousin Yuvan Bikkumalla who is a 6-year-old (born and raised in America, Austin Texas) had recited a Vedic Mantra called Shri Rudram Namakam(First Anuvamkam), for 4 min continuously without any pauses, it is a complex and lengthy Sanskrit mantra that typically takes years of practice to master. His remarkable achievement is a testament to his exceptional memory power and his deep reverence for our cultural heritage. Shri Rudram Namakam is a Vedic Mantra chanted in the Sanskrit language, it is believed to purify the mind and soul, its vibrations generate inner peace, and the Rudram Namakam is often chanted for seeking protection from negative influences and for the well-being of one's family, also chanting the Rudram Namakam is a way to stay connected with their cultural and spiritual roots. What makes his feat even more impressive is the sheer complexity of the Rudram Namakam. This ancient hymn is not only linguistically challenging but also demands a high level of concentration and understanding. Despite his young age, my cousin has shown an incredible ability to memorize and articulate each verse with precision. His dedication to learning and his natural aptitude for memorization are truly inspiring. Watching him recite the mantra with such confidence and clarity fills us all with pride and admiration. I had the privilege to have a conversation with the Guiness world record holder in speed reading Mr. Howard Berg, with a speed of 25,000 words (80pages) per minute, without any photographic memory, who read 30,000 books, and wrote a bestselling book in 5 hours, I am currently enrolled in his speed reading and writing course, as a part of the course I will be able to have 10 calls with him one on one, where I will be able to have an amazing conversation and learn speed reading and writing. There are a lot of things that I had learnt during the conversation here are a few:: >> Speed reading is about reading fast, remembering the information and also learning and understanding the concepts, it is a combination of everything. >> Having a clear end goal before you start reading, are you reading for the sake of learning, or remembering, or for exams, based on that your reading style need to change. >> Reading in mind is always better than reading out loud, if you want to read fast, it takes time for our brain to sink the information when we are reading loud, or hearing, but visual is the fastest way to sink the information in your brain, so when you wanted to speed read, you are observing with your eyes with attention and reading in mind, which will help to speed up the reading and learning process. >> Because Visual is instantaneous, the larger chunk of brain is dedicated to visual, and when you look for pictures and survey to understand and analyze the information visually that is called as inspectional reading. Learnt different types of learning, Literal learning, Implied learning which means it is assumed that the reader has the pre requisite knowledge that he or she needs to learn new things. >> Psychology behind learning, reading, and how the brain processes information. >> When we try reading fast, at first our brain will feel discomfortable, and after a certain point brain will stop u dertansing what we are reading but we need to embrace that discomfort and continue and gradually we will be able to read fast, and still understand the information. Overall, I only talked with him for 3 or 4 hours till now, and I have learnt so much, and I realized how important it is to surround, talk and spend time with High Achievers, our brain subconciounly changes in the right way. This course is amazing it is not only about writing and speed reading, it is also about learning in the right and quick way, As the author Cal Newport says, “This world rewards fast learners”. I am very happy to mention that our EPICS at ASU Project Automated Safety Escort system, and we as a team received Excellence Award at EPICS Award ceremony held at Arizona State University, Our team leader is Laela Olsen, and our team members are: Siddharth Sanjay, Austin Hou, Kush Patel, Salil Naik, Rylen Sabhlok, Gabriel Randolf Yap, Willem Hurley and Myself(Sai Mahesh Nomula ;) ). We have safety escorts at ASU, which will help students commute within the ASU campus, but those are not automated vehicles, our project is about creating an automated safety escort vehicle, which can be used for free by the ASU students, staff and all within ASU, where the trip can be scheduled in an user-interactive app. We are currently working on both hardware and software aspect of the project, researching and designing the code for the automated vehicle, and for the user-interactive app. Overall, if I have to talk about the award ceremony, it was a great experience for all of our team members to receive the award, working hard and impacting the society in a positive way through our work at a macro or a micro level is always the best thing.. What made me decide to start writing in LinkedIn. I am Sai Mahesh Nomula, I am studying in Computer Science, and also very passionate in filmmaking, and I used to love writing a lot and even now tho, and I have expressed the love that I have for writing through writing screenplays, I used to love the process of creating and developing stories, characters and their world, and the process of imagining everything and then writing was so much fun, I fell in love with storytelling and expressing myself through writing, whenever I had anything to write I used to write a lot, I still remember, in my first semester English class, most of my friends were struggling a little to write a 4 to 6 pages essay that they have been trying to write since 6 days, me freshman college student who started writing the essay 2 hour before it’s due and writing on bus last minute, I had to write about my self and my identity, and passion, I started writing, writing and writing and then after refining everything I have submitted the essay and later I realized that I have written and submitted an essay which is 15 pages, where in we have to write only 4 pages, I was shocked, my friends and professor were shocked and then appreciated me, prolly because I wrote pages and pages in screenplays I got an habit of writing a lot, later I was asked by the professor to remove the extra and submit only 4 pages, anyways 🤷🏽♂️, but yeah, that is where I realized that I am very good at writing and expressing myself. I created a whatsapp group for myself, and I used to journal all my thoughts and experiences, with myself, which was fun, and then last year nearly at this time, I realized, that lot of people are writing in LinkedIn expressing themselves, making content, proving value, creating a personal brand, and also at the same time doing freelance in writing and earning a good amount of money in Linkedin. That is where I started making content, writing blogs in Linkedin and got a lot of reach and even Mr. Ankur Warikoo liked my post which made my day, and I was struggling with consistency in between, now I again I have resumed my writing ✍️ journey, hoping that I will improve and be consistent. So, this is what made me decide to start writing on LinkedIn. Few weeks ago I got the opportunity to talk and interview Jayapriya Rajeswaran who is a 16 year old inspiring young achiever, Founder at Voice of Youth International Model UN, aspiring advocate, creative writer and many more. I am currently working as a freelance volunteer writer at The First Step founded by Hasini LakshmiNarayanan, where I have to interview young achiever and write an article about it. The First Step is an amazing platform where you will see interviews, blogs, podcasts and a lot more with young leaders!, and spreading the stories of young entrepreneurs. As an aspiring filmmaker, I know how powerful a story is, you can learn a lot of things just by listening to the story, and you will learn a lot of things just by listening, or reading a story about a young achiever in the Guiding Young Minds Magazine in The First Step … Here are few of the things we had discussed: >> We had discussed about many things, her aspirations, vision, interest in law, psychology and writing, business, work culture, stock marketing, starting things at a young age, hustle. >> Also dicusssed about her company Voice of youth, importance of soft skills, appreciation for young achievers from the society, things that are letting youth down, how to succeed. >> What major distractions are, how to overcome, importance of having financial literacy at a young age, and the consequences that we have to face for not being aware of it. >> How to properly learn about stocks, or any of that kind what is the right way of learning, is it through doing degree and job, or learning by doing?, yes you got the answer, learning by doing is the best way of learning, just starting small and learning in the process by doing it in action, well degree also is good but 🤷🏽♂️…. >> Importantnce of starting a business, and then learning in the process all while we are at a young age, benefits of hustling at a young age. >> How soft skills will be developed as we do a certain task in action in the process, how important is financial literacy to an individual, why soft skills are so hard to learn and master? >> Getting in the mind of a young achiever, where people at their age are having fun which might be fine, where in they are putting the hard work at an age where they don’t have to, that is challenging and inspiring. You will be able to know the perspective of a young achiever who had put in the needed hardwork and achieved success. Now, you might be thinking 🤔 that I didn’t say the details of what we discussed I just said what all we have discussed at a lighter note, I apologize for that, but I'll write a detailed article covering our interview topics soon.
