It was titled "Impact of AI on the Future of Work, Skilling, and Mobility." The document is interesting and concisely and methodically summarized to help us understand how to choose a professional path in light of the rapidly changing global landscape surrounding "Impact of AI on the Future of Work, Skilling, and Mobility." 1) English language skill 2) Numerical aptitude 3) Computing skill 4) Critical thinking 5) Learning ability 6) Personality trait 7) General knowledge 8) Future skill After reading the India skill report, I've decided to introduce the ideas of skilling, reskilling, and upskilling and to reach out to teachers, organizations, and students to ask them to welcome new challenges that present amazing potential. Using eight separate blogs, I will attempt to provide information on eight distinct skills. I hope it will be useful for recent graduates, master's degree holders, and research students to encounter possibilities and problems. Bridging the Gap: Enhancing Skill Development and Education in India In the era of rapid technological advancements and evolving job market dynamics, skill development and education have emerged as critical pillars for India's economic growth and prosperity. India's demographic dividend, characterized by a young and dynamic workforce, presents both opportunities and challenges. While the country boasts a vast pool of talent, there exists a significant gap between the skills possessed by the workforce and those demanded by employers. One of the key initiatives aimed at enhancing skill development in India is the National Skill Development Mission, launched in 2015 with the objective of providing skilling opportunities to millions of youths across the country. Through various schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and Skill India Mission, the government has been working towards equipping individuals with industry-relevant skills and certifications. These programs focus on sectors with high growth potential, including healthcare, information technology, manufacturing, and tourism, aligning skilling efforts with the evolving needs of the job market. In addition to government-led initiatives, there has been a growing emphasis on industry-academia collaborations to bridge the skill gap. Leading corporates and educational institutions are partnering to design curriculum, offer internships, and provide hands-on training to students, ensuring that they acquire practical skills and industry exposure. Furthermore, the digital revolution has transformed the landscape of education in India, making quality learning accessible to a wider audience. Online learning platforms and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have democratized education, allowing individuals to upskill and reskill at their own pace and convenience. Despite these efforts, several challenges persist in the realm of skill development and education in India. There is a need for greater alignment between academic curriculum and industry requirements, as well as investments in infrastructure and faculty development to enhance the quality of education. Additionally, efforts to promote lifelong learning and continuous skill upgrading are essential to ensure that the workforce remains agile and adaptable in the face of technological disruptions. In conclusion, enhancing skill development and education in India is crucial to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving job market and unleash the full potential of the country's workforce. By fostering collaboration between government, industry, and academia, investing in digital infrastructure, and promoting a culture of lifelong learning, India can position itself as a global leader in talent development and innovation. #SkillDevelopment #EducationInIndia #JobMarket #WorkforceDevelopment #SkillIndia #DigitalLearning #IndustryAcademiaCollaboration #FutureOfWork #LifelongLearning Image: from Google

Why India’s Education System Can Make the Coming Years Increasingly Challenging for the Nation's Youth According to the India Skills Report 2022, only 45.9% of Indian graduates are considered employable. This highlights a significant gap between the skills taught in educational institutions and those demanded by the industry. The All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) 2021 indicates that many institutions are still following curricula designed decades ago, which do not address current technological advancements and industry requirements. A report by FICCI-NASSCOM and EY highlights that only 25% of engineering graduates in India are capable of working on real-time projects due to insufficient practical training and exposure. As per the World Economic Forum, automation and AI are expected to displace 85 million jobs globally by 2025. Without an updated education system focusing on new-age skills, Indian graduates risk becoming obsolete in the job market. The Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) 2020-21 reveals that 40% of youth aged 20-24 are unemployed, with 65% of them being educated. To bridge the skill gap and enhance employability, India’s education system must evolve to meet the demands of a rapidly changing job market. Failure to do so will make the coming years increasingly challenging for the nation's youth. How do you think we can update our education system to make sure graduates have the skills needed for today's jobs? #IndiaEducationSystem #YouthEmployment #SkillGap #FutureOfWork #EducationReform

Digital Marketing Executive | Leveraging Psychology & Education for Data-Driven Strategy and Engagement
Reading the Indian Skills Report 2023 by Wheebox got me thinking about something crazy. Imagine this: India churns out a massive 30 crore secondary school graduates by 2030 - that's HUGE! But here's the twist: what if half of them can't land jobs because they don't have the right skills? This isn't some made-up scenario. A recent report by UNICEF sparked some serious thinking. The good news? We have a young population, a potential goldmine! The not-so-good news? We might not be fully equipping them for the jobs of tomorrow. Think about it: Schools are awesome, but are they teaching the exact skills companies are looking for? Have you heard of the "skill gap"? It's the difference between what we can do and what jobs require. Here's the thing: countries like Japan and South Korea are way ahead in the skill development game. They're training a whopping percentage of their young people! The question is: are WE ready to do the same? What kind of future can we build if half our talent pool isn't job-ready? Let's chat! Is skill development the key to unlocking India's potential? What can we do to bridge the skill gap? Dr.Aashna Narula Rishi Bagga Dr. Sakshi Seth Grover Akriti Madan Preeti M. In a rapidly evolving job market where traditional degrees no longer guarantee success, the emphasis is shifting towards practical, market-driven skills. Read my thoughts in #DailyPioneer today : https://lnkd.in/gFn_kZhK Recent reports indicate a surprising trend: prestigious institutions like the IITs are struggling with placement rates, with nearly 36% of students at IIT-Bombay remaining unplaced in 2024. This is not just an isolated issue—across India, the educated youth face daunting unemployment rates. At Orane International , we believe the solution lies in skills development. For instance, a course in digital marketing or beauty wellness can be completed in a fraction of the time and cost of a conventional degree, with over 90% placement rates. And why skills matter more than ever..? 1) Relevance: Skills directly match job requirements. 2) Economy: Courses are affordable with high ROI in terms of employment. 3) Flexibility: Skills like digital marketing allow for gig work, providing flexibility and independence to the workforce. #SkillsDevelopment #OraneInternational #Education #GigEconomy #JobMarket #Upskilling #SocialChange #FutureOfWork National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), MSDE, Government of India NSDC International Limited National Skill Development Corporation Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council

45% of all graduates in India demonstrate the readiness to meet the industry’s ever-changing demands. The employability prospects for Indian graduates, according to the study has some distinct variations between tech and non-tech skills. With the announcement of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 in March this year, skills training in India has gained momentum after a slowdown in enrollments for almost a year.
