When it comes to serving, hiring and retaining women in our industry, what is one thing you wish we’d reframe our thinking about?
That’s one question we plan to ask many phenomenal women in our industry on our new monthly live web series ReFrame, powered by the #WomenOfCarson.
In our series, we hope to shift our thinking on issues facing the industry while spotlighting the amazing work that women in our industry are doing.
What is one thing in the industry you wish we’d reframe our thinking on?
4xAward-Winning CEO of Females and Finance where we are Dedicated to Building Y.O.U. in #FinServ #FinTech through Community and Education | I am the Mother of 5 - Grandmother of 14 - and Ally/Advocate to Thousands.
I appreciate that the Carson Group asked this question. And I really hope the Females and Finance Community chimes in below.
For example -
1. Can we reframe asking about balance in our lives? There is no such thing as balance - it's a harmony. We all live and work in a different cadence or tune from one another and I'm really tired of the work-life balance crap.
2. Can we reframe our position on flexibility? Some want to work from home. Some want to work from the office. Some want a little of both. In today's work environment combined with the amazing tech that's been developed, can't we find more flexibility?
3. Can we reframe our ads for jobs? Some of these are written from a land far far away and they don't even sound like jobs anyone would really want. When was the last time you ran a posting by a woman in your firm or who you know? Or how about looking at it from a cultural perspective and making sure it speaks to someone who doesn't look like you?
I can go on........ but you're up. Let's see what you've got!
