The Future of Waste is No Waste ♻️ At TerraVenture, we believe waste is just another resource waiting to be used. By turning waste into energy, we’re not only solving one of the planet’s biggest problems but also creating a circular economy that benefits everyone. 📊 Here’s how we’re doing it: Anaerobic Digestion: TerraVenture’s waste-to-energy system will convert organic waste into biogas, which will power our operations and provide clean energy for the local community. We estimate this will generate 50,000-90,000 cubic meters of biogas annually, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and providing affordable energy solutions. [9] Organic Fertiliser: The by-product from our anaerobic digester will be converted into organic fertiliser, available to local farmers, promoting sustainable agriculture and reducing chemical fertiliser use. Zero-Waste Approach: Our recycling systems will process 100% of our waste, ensuring that nothing goes to landfills. Plastic, glass, metal, and paper will all be recycled on-site. 🌍 Be part of a project that’s proving zero waste is achievable. Support TerraVenture today! #zerowaste #circulareconomy #renewableenergy #greeninnovation #wastetowealth References: [9] UK Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Association (ADBA) Report.

🌊🛢️ Oil spills, big or small, have a significant impact on our marine ecosystems. But did you know that the clean-up process can also contribute to pollution? Traditional clean-up methods often involve single-use plastics that end up in landfills, and create around 9,000 tonnes of oil-absorbent waste each year. 💡 Enter Green Boom, a company that’s revolutionising oil spill clean-up with its line of biodegradable oil absorbents. These products can rapidly soak up four times their weight in oil, all while being made from 100 per cent sustainably sourced, renewable raw materials. 🌿 Green Boom’s products, including booms and mats, are filled with natural fibre biomass that repels water and rapidly absorbs oil from spills. They’re also versatile, available in a variety of sizes and shapes for both land and sea, making them well-suited for even smaller spills. #Innovation #InnovationThatMatters #Ocean #SaveOurOceans #Sustainability

Pillar 2: Caring for the Planet 🌍 Reflecting our dedication to achieving net-zero and making a positive impact on the environment, here's how we're leading the way in sustainability: Did you know that we've installed biomass heating at our warehouse and offices, leading to a significant reduction of 150 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year? Additionally, our efforts to replace old delivery vehicles with biofuel-powered lorries have resulted in a 100% biofuel core delivery fleet by the end of 2023, leading to a 90% reduction in carbon emissions from our distribution and core delivery fleet. 🚛 We're also committed to restoring and preserving natural habitats. Through our rewilding efforts at a 3.2-acre site next to our Ruddington distribution hub, we've planted over 4100 bulbs, 190 shrubs, and 445 trees, creating a thriving habitat for wildlife including badgers, foxes, and more. We aim to use at least 30% recycled plastic across primary, secondary, and transport packaging, and we're enhancing recycling information on our plastic packaging labels to make it easier for our customers to recycle. ♻️ As well as this, we continuously assess the sustainability practices of all our supply chain partners and collaborate with them to further improve sustainability standards. By reducing our carbon footprint across our entire supply chain, we're making strides towards a greener future. #Sustainability #NetZero #EnvironmentalCommitment #GoOkarno

🚚 Sustainable road transport. Impossible? Contrary to popular belief, sustainable road transport is not a dream anymore – it’s a reality!♻ A recent study by the Italian National Research Council (CNR) in collaboration with IVECO shows that the use of compressed biomethane derived from organic waste can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 96% compared to diesel. Key to these impressive results is the integration of all stages of the compressed biomethane production chain, from waste management and anaerobic digestion, to upgrading and biomethane compression, all on the same site. This would allow waste collection trucks delivering waste to the biogas plant to be fuelled with the very same waste in compressed form, starting the cycle all over again. 🚛 Now that’s true circular economy in action! You think, this is difficult to achieve? No, it is not. It is fully realized in one of our reference plants! ✔ Want to know more about our innovative solutions and the benefits of compressed biomethane from organic waste? ✏ Leave a comment below or contact us directly! #biomethane #sustainability #greenenergy #alternativetofossilfuels

Did you know that tonnes of food production waste, like imperfect carrots and other veggies, are often discarded? This waste doesn't just pile up—it contributes to greenhouse gas emissions too. But there's a solution! Biogas technology transforms this organic waste into clean energy, turning what would be trash into treasure. By capturing methane from food scraps, we can treat your organic waste on-site, save you on waste disposal & energy costs, and divert tonnes of waste from landfill. Let’s rethink food waste and support sustainable solutions like biogas! 🌿♻️ #ZeroWaste #SustainableEnergy #BiogasPower #CircularEconomy
