As the holidays approach, it is important to care for your mental health during this busy time of year, and our CEO, Dustin Ames, shares thoughtful advice to help navigate holiday stress. "As we approach the holiday season, it's a wonderful time to celebrate and reflect, but it's also a time when stress can build, both with the hustle and bustle of work and the personal emotions that can accompany the holidays. I encourage us all to stay mindful of these challenges and to be proactive in managing our well-being. Some advice I would give would be to prioritize self-care. Taking small breaks, exercising, and getting proper rest can make a big difference in managing stress. Staying connected by talking with peers or loved ones can provide valuable support and ease holiday-related pressures and setting boundaries. Remember, it's okay to step back and recharge when you need it. I would like to ask that we make it a priority to support each other through this season and keep our well-being a top priority," Dustin shares. Remember to take time for yourself and enjoy the season in ways that bring you both happiness and peace!

Prioritizing Mental Health During the Holidays The holiday season can be joyful, but it also brings unique stressors. Whether it’s the hustle and bustle, financial pressures, or balancing work and family, it’s important to prioritize mental health during this time. Here are a few practical tips: 1. Set Realistic Expectations: Everything doesn’t have to be perfect. Focus on creating meaningful moments rather than trying to do it all. 2. Practice Self-Care: Take time for yourself, whether it’s reading, meditating, exercising, or simply enjoying some quiet time. 5. Stay Connected: Reach out to friends or family, especially if you’re feeling lonely. Sometimes, a simple conversation can lift your spirits. 6. Seek Support If Needed: If holiday stress becomes overwhelming, don’t hesitate to reach out to a counselor or therapist. Your mental health matters. As we head into the weekend – a long one here in the US – I wanted to remind you to take time for yourself in support of your mental health and wellbeing. (It is mental health awareness month after all.) If you’re someone who feels guilty when you’re not being busy or productive – and let’s face it, most of us are – it can be very hard, if not impossible, to give yourself permission to pause. So, here’s a tip. It doesn’t matter how long you take a break for, what matters is that you actually tell yourself that you’re doing it. Something like: “This is just for me.” Even if it’s for five minutes, sitting with the blessed phone turned off, and everyone out of the way, once you tell yourself that this is for you, it turns it into a kind of ritual, which makes it more potent. And it doesn’t matter what you do. As long as it’s something YOU like to do (or not do). It could be: drinking a delicious cup of coffee (tip: turn the phone off and close the door) taking a walk (tip: leave the phone – and the kids – at home, but bring the dog 😁) a three-minute pause doing absolutely nothing reading a page or chapter of a book you love writing in your journal Tip: Lighting a candle will add to the ritual. Telling yourself, “This is just for me” gives you the message that you’re important. Because you ARE. We just forget it in the busyness of life. This weekend, give yourself the gift of a pause. Have a wonderful weekend, Rachel xx #mentalhealth

☀️I remember a time when I thought about incorporating a morning routine into my day to help change my life, though questioned it.. What would it really do for me? ☀️What I didn't realise is what I would be doing for myself. Putting myself first. ☀️Putting my happiness, mental health and happiness first. It does so much more than we would think. ☀️By starting your day from a place of power, everything shifts. When we commit to ourselves that we are worthy of feeling good. ☀️We are worthy of our own time. We tend to focus on everyone else's needs. Our friends, bosses, partner, kids, parents the list goes on. ☀️And when you decide that you are important and worthy, everything can change. You are important. ☀️You are worthy. It is so much more than just a morning routine, it is standing up to claim your happiness. ☀️Every. Single. Day. Comment below if you have a morning routine.
