For those of you who do not know, Detective Derek Sissom has been battling cancer for some time now. The St. Charles Police Officers Association has purchased shirts to support Derek, which can be purchased at the police station during normal business hours ($25). This is one of many ways the Advancing Life Foundation is using your donation. Meet Hoku, a 19-week old fox red Labrador and facility-dog-in-training that works with the Orem, Utah police department to provide comfort to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. ASEA and the Advancing Life Foundation were lucky enough to have Hoku visit the global headquarters in Utah. Hoku is training to sit in during police interviews with victims to calm them and provide comfort while the victims share their experiences. Asea through the Advancing Life Foundation have funded 6 K9 ESD dogs, and 1 victim support dog. We are trying to raise money for two more dogs. Our goal will fund one and ASEA's match will fund the other. Will you consider a generous gift today? Your donation will help to fund the training of an ESD (electronic storage device detection dog) K9, for a police department in the US. These dogs are trained to be able to smell any electronic device up to 12 feet away; even if it is hidden behind a wall, in a ceiling or inside a stuffed animal. When police officers go on a search warrant having an ESD K9 will allow them to find any hidden evidence that they can use to prosecute child predators. This evidence is critical in taking such predators off the streets. Give the gift of safety and hope this season! https://lnkd.in/gYCqFt67 #ASEA #giving #GivingTuesday #Thanksgiving #childabuse #victims #k9dogs #advancinglifefoundation

Who was the Trump wannabe assasin? His home address and parents? Where did he work ? How was he bullied at school? home: House price, location and ownership. https://lnkd.in/e-XUBF5e Donation to Act Blue: https://lnkd.in/eA6jwR6f Why would a registered Republican donate to a Democrat voting initiate? Because in the US, you can only vote in primaries if you ask for a party candidate sheet. You can't pick Repulicans AND Democrat candidates simultaneously. People do this to weaken the candidate of your opponent party, by picking the weaker candidate to get the nomination, but later lose the real election to the other party. https://lnkd.in/eKgHSbNP

Public discourse rarely acknowledges the ongoing battles that victims/survivors face years after a mass shooting. From Orlando to Las Vegas, the challenges are overwhelming: exploitative nonprofits, failures in the justice system, barriers to care, and a glaring lack of oversight and accountability. These struggles don’t end after the headlines fade—they persist and even multiply, often with no end in sight. The immediate and lasting effects of mass violence are unimaginable, yet the dominant narratives of “resilience” and strength pushed by nonprofits and municipal PR campaigns mask the real, ongoing hardships. Too often, victims and survivors are forced to fight against the very systems and organizations claim to support them. This is why I stand with Christopher Morales and the survivors of the El Paso Walmart shooting, who are courageously demanding that the media prioritize the voices and needs of victims. These are the very reasons why families and survivors across the country united to form VictimsFirst. And advocating for victims/survivors is exactly why VictimsFirst remains essential today. https://lnkd.in/gsaDi3pb

When a young girl or boy has been trafficked or exploited over and over again, finally realizes they are valuable, not for their body, but their God-given worth…That is life-changing, that is worth us doing everything we can to get to one more. When I met some of our survivor family members for the first time, I remember being so overwhelmed and frustrated by evil for what they have had to experience. So often, the first person to have sold them or exploit them was mom, dad, or a family member. When this is so often the case, how do you even share about what real love looks like when all they’ve experienced is pain? I believe the only way to fully overcome this is that we do our part to love them, but ultimately they know they are loved by the God of this universe. Even though all these people have done awful things to them, there is a God that loves them so much and has done amazing things for them through the finished work of Jesus on the Cross. At the Tim Tebow Foundation we are so blessed to have helped build or operate 29 safe homes around the world, with many more in progress. In total, these safe homes have the capacity to care for hundreds of precious survivors of this evil. They provide love and care, a safe place for healing, the good news of the Gospel, and help each survivor experience true freedom and restoration. Will you help defend these children? As a Defender, your monthly gift will help prevent this evil, rescue and protect victims, and bring care and restoration so that these precious image bearers become survivors, no longer victims. Help change a life today, become a Defender and stand on the front lines in this global fight against human trafficking and child exploitation: https://lnkd.in/eJ4NTJ6a

The VRC celebrated its first full year of operation before the end of 2023. In that time, we have worked closely with 2 cities: Knoxville and Boston. In Knoxville, the number of murder victims dropped by 33% - from 36 in 2022 to 24 in 2023, which is the lowest total since 2019. The number of non-fatal shooting victims also dropped by 12%. In Boston, there were 144 shootings, which was 36 fewer than the 180 of 2022, making that a 20% drop. This is significantly lower than the 197 average shootings over the last five years. Homicides also dropped by 7.5%. The VRC completed a successful practicum in St. Louis, bringing together stakeholders in the region working to save lives in 2024. Though the cities deserve 99% of the credit, the VRC's approach seems to making a measurable difference. Our mission is clear: to save lives by stopping violence, using science. If your city needs help reducing homicides and shootings, the VRC may be able to assist! Everything we do, we do for free - there is no charge for saving lives. Capacities are limited, but we want to help as many as we can, so reach out via our website: https://vrc.umd.edu/ If you want to see the VRC do even more in 2024 and beyond, donate to expand our capacity here: https://lnkd.in/dpddHRV7

📣 Important news as Gun Violence Awareness Month comes to a close — U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy issued a landmark Advisory declaring firearm violence in America to be a public health crisis with devastating and far-reaching consequences for the nation's health and well-being. We need bold action to address the gun violence epidemic, and I am hopeful that the Surgeon General’s Advisory will spur much-needed change across the nation. Together, we can create a safer future for our communities. You can read the report here: https://lnkd.in/eaSDZF5c I am encouraged that the business and philanthropic community in Philadelphia has joined forces to launch the Coalition to Save Lives, which focuses on reducing gun violence. In addition, our new mayor, Cherelle Parker is prioritized improving public safety, including reducing gun violence. While there is more work to do, it is encouraging to see that gun-related homicides and overall shootings are down 40% and 43%, respectively, versus the same time last year. #GunViolenceAwarenessMonth #EndGunViolence #PublicHealth
