A nutrient-rich diet is crucial after bariatric surgery to heal and achieve the weight loss goal. After gastric sleeve surgery, the body undergoes dramatic changes in the digestive system leading to reduced nutrient-absorption capabilities. To compensate for this, patients might need supplements. Dupuytren's contracture, sometimes called the Viking's disease, is an abnormal thickening of the palmar fascia of the hand. There are many invasive treatments for it, including injections, breaking it up with a needle (percutaneous needle fasciotomy), and surgery. If you're looking to address the contracture NON-invasively, manual therapy can work wonderfully, but the key is addressing it early. Once it's fully set it, non-invasive results can be limited. #health #dupuytrenscontracture

ERCP Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, or ERCP, is a procedure to diagnose and treat problems in the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreas. It combines X-ray and the use of an endoscope—a long, flexible, lighted tube. We can do an ERCP to treat conditions that affect the bile ducts, small intestine and pancreas. It is a less invasive procedure than surgery. Bile ducts: During an ERCP, we can put small plastic or metal tubes called stents into the bile ducts if they are blocked. The length of the examination varies between 30 and 90 minutes (but is usually less than an hour). After ERCP, you will be monitored while the sedative medications wear off. After the ERCP, you might have some tummy (abdominal) pain, bloating or discomfort when swallowing for a few days. If you had sedation or a general anaesthetic and are leaving hospital within 24 hours, you must have someone to take you home and stay with you overnight. This person must be at least 18 years old. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #snsdesignthinking
