Beyond Transactions: Cultivating Trust in African Web3 Spaces I vividly remember joining a couple of communities back in 2018 where I felt a deep sense of belonging and purpose. We were curious, courteous and willing to experiment. I've watched all of us go and do amazing things in the space because we really supported ourselves. Fast forward to today, it's a very different vibe. I'm of the opinion that building a real community requires a focus on authentic connections and shared values. I want to make friends, increase my trust network and be a part of something larger than myself. Unfortunately, many modern groups prioritize quantity over quality, often seeking sponsorships rather than meaningful relationships. The deeper I go with my learnings on community fundamentals, the more I realise the need to have deep community values. A lot of communities won’t stand the test of time because its easy to loose sight of the goal once money and egos are involved. In the context of African Web3 communities, the path forward is clear: prioritize genuine relationships and local engagement. As Africa embraces blockchain technology, it is crucial to foster connections that go beyond mere transactions or sponsorships. The continent's unique social fabric offers a rich foundation for building trust and collaboration, essential for sustainable growth. I strongly believe that the success of African Web3/ Onchain initiatives will depend on their ability to cultivate inclusive environments where diverse voices are heard and valued. Remember, you and I are the community so let's get it right!

Reflecting on 2023, it's been a transformative journey of learning, embracing change, and achieving milestones. 🚀 Collaboration and community were at the heart of my professional growth. Attended industry-leading conferences this year, gaining valuable insights and forming connections with thought leaders and peers, instrumental in broadening perspectives. Highlights include Crypto Summit in #Davos, European Blockchain Convention in #Barcelona, START Global Summit in #StGallen, Crypto Valley Conference and CV Summit in #Zug, Plan B Forum in #Lugano, CCA Trustless Technologies Association e.V. Token Summit in #Vaduz, Staking Summit in #Istanbul, Startup Nights in #Winterthur, among others. 👩🏽🎓Learning & development. In 2023, I immersed myself in learning, completing the #blockchain Technologies course from MIT Sloan School of Management, blockchain course with SheFi and earning a Project Management Certificate from Google. Beyond personal #development, it was about joining a vibrant #community of learners and engaging in idea exchange and discussions with fellow participants. 👩🏽💻Consulting. In my role as a consultant for the early-stage tech startup Zario, I crafted a successful partnerships strategy, supported fundraising efforts, and played a key role in securing the first prize at the EU-Startups Summit in #Barcelona. 🌟Leadership. Joined Women in Web3 Switzerland (WiW3CH) in February, right before the official launch. Initiated the #entrepreneurs WG which co-hosted a successful event on community building in web3 startups with Crypto Valley Association. Encouraged by the Board, assumed the Lead of #Partnerships role, actively contributing to securing community partnerships with prestigious events. Excitedly looking forward to 2024, with two significant milestones in January: co-organizing the Women in Web3 Global Summit during #WEF Davos 2024 and my first co-publication on digital assets in Swiss Ladies Drive GmbH magazine.
