There are reasons to love PVdC coated films. If you compare all available barrier films, PVdC films falls under that category which is very cost effective for packaging of foods at large scale. Rest of barrier films has their own limitations but PVdC films address all issues in one shot. Features: High barrier to WVTR, OTR, Oil, Fat, Flavour, Aroma… all required features in one product! PVdC coated BOPP film is used as mono-layer or in multi-layer structures. PVdC coated PET Film is used always in Multilayer packaging structure. Highly transparent for see through packaging and supports solvent based and water based inks. Sustainability is the issue with PVdC coated films but I am confident one day we will be able to find a way to recycle it mechanically and/or chemically.
