In the first week of April, I made my way to Alexandria to join the Faison team at the VAABA conference. It was my first time presenting a poster in my professional career, and I was excited to be part of such a fantastic team for a two-day conference.
One of the most memorable parts of the conference was when President Byron Wine introduced the first-ever E. Scott Geller Award, which was presented by Dr. Geller himself. Dr. Geller has been a significant figure in behavioral psychology for 50 years and started "Actively Caring for People." It was an honor to hear him talk about his work.
I also got to listen to Dr. John Austin's closing speech. Dr. Austin is an author, publisher, professor, entrepreneur, and mentor. His speech was insightful and expanding my knowledge on OBM.
I'm really grateful for the chance to attend this event as a Research Assistant under the guidance of Faison and my supervisor, Eli Newcomb. It was a great experience that helped me learn a lot and meet some really interesting people!
