Not only because of what she’s built at Salesforce, But because of her authenticity and genuine empathy. You can’t fake that amount of care for your customers. Care & authenticity are what create successful communities. Communities in 2024 are more than necessary for brands. Specifically, communities that: - Are tied to business goals. - Are customer centric. - Embed customer insights into their product.

📈 📈 📈 If you work in ops or are a dev that gets pulled into live site issues and you use metrics to help you figure out what's going on, it's not enough just to look for spikes/dips in metrics. If you haven't spent a fair amount of time staring at *healthy* metrics *before you get paged*, you might be in for a bad time. It's also really important to understand the periodic nature of your traffic: hourly, day of the week, special events, seasonal, etc. I was the Dataplane Lead at Crowdstrike for 25,000+ Cassandra nodes and worked on a lot of other stateful infrastructure with our team.  I saved us $20MM+ annually by paying a lot of attention to our metrics and making targeted, successful experiments with low blast radius that we were able to leverage against the entire fleet.  I was also able to catch big, serious bugs in application software by noticing when traffic patterns were trending toward unhealthy in very subtle ways weeks before they could have caused fleet-wide problems. It's true that the grass isn't always greener but sometimes the noise from a lot of loud voices doesn't let you see it - My career so far is an example of that: "You're crazy for leaving Oracle as the top SE to be an SDR at a startup" ... Joined RelateIQ that was acquired by Salesforce for $400m which became Salesforce Essentials + Inbox. "You're crazy for leaving Salesforce as a Manager for a startup with only 10 employees and 11 customers" ... Joined Gong as employee 11 (we all know the story there) - Personally built/hired 4 teams from scratch that are still around to this day. "You're crazy for being a stay at home dad for a year. You'll never find a job afterwards." ... Joined Mobly as employee 5. Was told by an Investor that not investing in the seed round will go down as his biggest mistake in his career so far. And we're just getting started.
