Froedtert Transportation Issues Project: Through my #launch class this project, my team and I worked with Froedtert Clinic Manager, @chrystalotto on finding a solution to missed and late appointments at Froedtert due to patients' lack of transportation. By the end of the project, we decided to add a section to MyChart asking patients whether or not they needed transportation to their appointment and help facilitate transportation for patients who need it. This project helped me learn more about the financial side to healthcare, like how there are specific budgets and how different positions can approve different amounts of money. My human skill that I chose to work on was flexibility, and this project helped me work on this skill because our team had to work through various unexpected problems. For example, we had originally settled on the idea to buy shuttles for Froedtert to pick up patients who needed a ride to their appointment, but eventually had to scrap that idea because it was not feasible and too costly. Although it was tough to change our idea at first, by being flexible to other ideas, we were able to come up with another solution.
