Jonathan Meakin wants to change that. Rodinia Generation has secured €3 million in funding from Article 9 investor Climentum Capital and the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO). We see this investment as a huge vote of confidence in our high-tech approach to solve the industry’s problem with unsustainable clothing production. Here's what the funding means to us and the future fashion industry: 🌐 Accelerating expansion, first in Europe, then later globally: as we enable automated microfactories across the planet to produce clothing just-in-time, we and our partners, gradually reduce the need to overproduce clothes that won’t even sell. ⏱ Speeding up sustainability: our microfactory technology enables quality production of garments 19 times faster than conventional production methods. This allows our partners, such as hummel, to make products cost-efficiently on-demand. 💚 A cleaner future for fashion: our technology reduces the product carbon footprint by 40% and water consumption to zero compared to conventional dyeing & finishing processes. We're more than proud to be at the forefront and take active part in the positive change that is happening in the wider fashion industry. 🌟Hello Else-Marie Malmek, we're excited to have you representing Juteborg Sweden AB as an exhibitor at LIGHTer International Conference on June 18-19! 🌟 What goals and expectations motivated you to join us as an exhibitor? - Juteborg’s goal is to “juteify” the participants at the conference! We would like to share knowledge of the natural fiber of jute, “The Golden Fiber”, and showcase high-tech jute composites, JuTech™, from our research projects, partly financed by the LIGHTer program. Jute is the most sustainable natural fiber in the world but remains largely unknown. Most people think of sacks and ropes and are unaware that jute can be used in high-tech solutions, for example, in the automotive industry, replacing glass fiber reinforcement in mold-injected composites. Considering the conference theme “Towards net-zero industry through lightweight innovation,” how does Juteborg contribute to this goal? - Jute is a lightweight material, and since it can replace glass fiber as reinforcement in many applications, the end product will be lighter. How much lighter depends on the material it replaces. Jute is also biodegradable, compostable, and the process from farmer to factory consumes a minimal amount of energy. Additionally, jute is a fast-growing crop, maturing in only 120 days and binds a significant amount of CO2 annually. What relationships do you hope to establish during the conference? - Juteborg seeks to be a development partner and wishes to cooperate with our end customers in the early design phases, as it is during these phases that the most crucial decisions are made regarding the sustainability of the end product. We are eager to explore more application areas for jute and, therefore, aim to develop more proof of concepts in close cooperation with companies primarily within the automotive, construction, interior, textile, and packaging sectors. 💁 It's true our approach to recycling is pretty ingenious! The event industry is mostly focused on single use solutions. Tons of materials are used to build a single stand at a fair or an event. They are designed for 2 or 3 days max. And then? All the materials go straight to the trash. Sounds pretty wasteful, right? That is where TRASH GALORE comes into play. For example: in our recent collaboration with STILL GmbH, we managed to find a collective, that will turn parts of their stand into a kids playground. That is real social value that is being created. We've offer expertise in bulk when it comes to calculating how many CO2 emissions are being are being avoided by Hashtag #reintroducing the material into the value production cycle instead of removing it for ever.
