Call 911, secure the area and stay away from downed powerlines. If you know the utility’s number call them too but wait for first responders and make sure no one enters the area. When the utilities first respondes get onsite please let us do our job.

Maintain 35’ away from ANY downed line to avoid the risks of step and touch potential, call 911!!! Encourage others to stay away but never subject yourself to danger to stop someone else, never attempt to rescue an individual in contact with a downed line and be aware of accessory structures (fences, guard rails) that when in contact with a downed line may extend the dangerous conditions far away from the actual down lines.

We're glad to see so many of you know what to do to stay safe in this type of situation. Remember, if you see downed power lines, stay back and call 911!
