And to get stuck right in we are running a 'Cooking for one' Course in a couple of weeks. Funding from Adult learning has enabled us to put together a 6 week to learn how to cook 6 two course meals, discuss money saving tips, options for no chop cooking and much more. Participants will cook, eat and learn together. Many people are unable to cook or are to used to cooking for more than one person that they can waste food and/ or eat unhealthily. The course it to help support those learning for the first time and those who need to expand their skill set to help save money, adapt recipes with substitution of items or because they hare struggling to chop, peel or prepare food. Cooking doesn't have to be hard but there are very few places to learn on a budget. #cooking

🥑 Kids cooking classes are not just about making meals, they’re about fostering a deeper connection to food, cultivating creativity, and instilling lifelong skills that go beyond the kitchen. 🍽️ I have been teaching kids cooking classes for 3+ years. My favorite part is when the junior chefs share the meal together. They are so proud of what they created in the kitchen. Is it chaotic? Yes. Do some kids HATE tomatoes? Yes. Do we have fun? YES. Class Curriculum 🥤Healthy Beverages: Seasonal Smoothie 🍎Fall Flavors: Sautéed Cinnamon Apples 🌈Eat The Rainbow: Rainbow Sushi 🥕Sneaky Veggies: Loaded Veggie Quesadilla 🍅Seasonal Eating: Pico De Gallo 🍓Be Sugar Smart: Fresh Fruit Crepes 🫐Food & Mood: Chia Seed Pudding 💫Community creates resilience and kids cooking creates community. I encourage you to include junior chefs in the kitchen to build confidence, resilience & health. Investing in our youth is the way forward 🤍 📸Photos used with permission from Kids Cooking For Life #kidscooking #kidsinthekitchen #kidscookingclass #wellnessentrepreneur #teacherlife

As the 4th of July approaches, here are some safety tips you should know while grilling and preparing food. • Don’t leave food out in the hot sun. Keep perishable foods in a cooler with plenty of ice or freezer gel packs. • Wash your hands before preparing the food. • If you are going to grill, always supervise when in use. Don’t add charcoal starter fluid when coals have already been ignited. Use the long-handled tools especially made for cooking on the grill to keep the chef safe. • Never grill indoors. Keep the grill out in the open, away from the house, the deck, tree branches or anything that could catch fire. • Make sure everyone, including pets, stays away from the grill. Have a safe 4th of July!

Are double yolks lucky? If they are, I was very lucky when I was making omelettes the other day. Not pictured but I broke 6 eggs and FOUR were double yolks! What are the chances? Eggs are the best thing to start cooking with with your children. They are so versatile. From cracking to mixing, from omelette to scrambled egg to French toast. Having children be involved in cooking gives them skills they can take through adult hood. I always give them one cup to put the egg into and one to put the shell in, do it near the sink and actively clean up with them. And if shell gets in the cup? Dont worry, use the other piece of the shell as it cuts through the albumen and you can retrieve it. Pour it into a bowl to give children more access/vosibility. Then once they have cracked those simple dishes (see what I did there) you can start adding other ingredients and make other recipes with egg! For more ideas on bringing learning to life in the kitchen, my award-winning book ‘More to Mealtimes- how to learn almost anything in the kitchen and make mealtimes easier’ is available on Amazon or message me for a signed copy for just £10! #eggs #childdevelopment #nanny #learning #cookingwithchildren #doubleyolk
