Do you want to take your #sustainability knowledge to the next level? Are you interested in taking climate action but don’t know where to start? Myself and other fantastic volunteers will be hosting a Sustainability Sunday Sesh at The Burrow in West End on Sunday 18 August. In this fun, unique and collaborative session, participants play a 42-card game to learn about sustainability and climate science. You’ll be guided through activities and engaging discussions about systemic solutions and learn what individuals can do to live a life that respects the limits of our planet. 🌏 Why do it? There’s a lot of conversation, reporting and media about climate change. Some of it well-meaning and some of it misleading. Taking action towards a sustainable future can feel daunting, overwhelming and pointless. This workshop is designed for anyone with an interest in the topic, to help demystify information regarding #climatechange, present science-based information and empower individuals to take action. 🌏 Who’s it for? If you're relatively new to the topic, this is the best 3 hours you can spend on it. If you're already advanced, you will discover a tool to raise awareness and empower others around you. For anyone in between, you’ll come away feeling enlightened and re-engaged to act. This workshop is suitable for anyone over the age of 14. MUST REGISTER. For more information and to buy tickets: https://lnkd.in/gy_sruDh All proceeds go to the genius and dedicated people behind the unique learning experience at Climate Fresk Australia

🌍 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐰! 🌱 In our relentless pursuit of a sustainable future, we've come to realize the profound impact our daily actions have on the planet. It's time to give back to the Earth what it has so generously given us. As part of the global effort to combat climate change, it is a inspiring article "170 Climate Actions to Combat Climate Change" guide. These actions help industries align with the 17 goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG). 🌍 Reflecting on an Inspiring Morning at Climate Talks with Edward Chu 🌱 Today, I had the opportunity to be a part of the 1st “Climate Talks with Chu,” an event that not only affirms my awareness of climate challenges but also energized me to ‘double down’ on being a part of the solution. The conversations were enlightening, the insights appreciated, and the call to action clear from Lori Collins with her report “The Unavoidable Opportunity: Investing in the Growing Market for Climate Resilience Solutions”. One simple message resonated deeply with me: “just take action.” It’s a reminder that every one of us has the power to contribute to a more sustainable future, no matter how small our actions may seem. This event was a profound reminder that time is of the essence, and the moment to act is now. The takeaway; leaving today inspired, motivated, and ready to make a difference. Let’s not wait for the perfect solution to present itself. Let’s start now, where we are, with what we have…remembering that even small steps towards sustainability matter. For those who couldn’t attend, I highly encourage you to engage with the materials and insights shared from the event and mark your calendars for the next ones. There’s a wealth of knowledge and inspiration to be found in the collective wisdom of the speakers and participants. Together, we can make an impact. 🌏💚 Sotiria Anagnostou, PhD Krista O'Brien #ClimateAction #Sustainability #AZCleanTech #TakeAction #ClimateTalksWithChu 🫰

The fact that we are destroying our environment, and are doing so at an alarming rate can no longer be considered news. The fact that we can stop, change, adapt, also shouldn’t be news. But it often is. Not because many of don’t want to change things, but because so many of us just don’t know how. We often don’t even know what it is that needs changing. DW Planet A is trying to remedy this, one video at a time. DW Planet A is a YouTube channel by Deutsche Welle that focuses on environmental issues, sustainability, and the challenges posed by climate change. It aims to educate its viewers about environmental issues and sustainability through various formats, including documentaries and interviews. The channel covers topics like climate change science, sustainable practices, and biodiversity threats. Its well-produced videos use animations and infographics to clarify complex concepts, making them accessible to a wide audience. By encouraging viewer engagement and fostering discussions, DW Planet A is fostering a community that is passionate about environmental action. With a focus on global perspectives, the channel empowers viewers to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives, making it an invaluable resource for understanding climate change and fostering a sustainable future. This week, I am proud to be part of Climate Action Week Sydney, standing alongside countless determined individuals (including my sister Tania Leimbach, PhD) united by a common goal: to make the coming decades livable and to ensure future generations look back proudly, knowing we took action. Together, we are not just participants; we are catalysts for change, working tirelessly to create a sustainable future. It's funny how we often perceive ourselves as separate from "the natural world." Yet, this perceived separation is an illusion. In reality, we are intricately woven into the fabric of nature. Our actions ripple through the natural world, impacting everything from the air we breathe to the stability of our climate. Recognising this interconnectedness is crucial. By understanding that the human sphere and the natural world are not separate entities but parts of a single, delicate ecosystem, we can better appreciate the urgency and significance of our actions. Climate Action Week is a powerful reminder of this interconnectedness. It is a call to action, urging us to bridge the gap between our human-made environments and the natural world. It's about more than just reducing our carbon footprint; it's about reimagining our role on this planet. It’s about fostering a relationship with nature that is symbiotic and sustainable, rather than extractive and destructive. This week, as I join the swell of people committed to climate action, I am inspired by the collective energy and dedication around me. From grassroots organisers to policymakers, from students to scientists, every individual effort contributes to a larger movement that is unstoppable. We are not alone in this fight; we are part of a global community that understands the stakes and is ready to act. Let's embrace our role as stewards of the Earth, committed to protecting and nurturing it, and us, for generations to come.🌿✨ #ClimateActionWeek #TogetherForOurPlanet #SustainableFuture #EnvironmentalStewardship #ActNow #EnvironmentalLeadership
