Accounting Education is 8th highest accounting research journal in the 2023 CiteScore list. Demonstrating its impact on both accounting research and education research, Accounting Education’s 2023 CiteScore of 8.0 places it in the top-7% position among the accounting journals, which is exceeded by its top-6% position among education research journals. Over the past five years, its CiteScore has progressed 2.0, 2.3, 4.6, 6.0, to 8.0 and its % position among accounting research journals has progressed from 70%, 74%, 87%, 90%, to 93%, taking it from 51st in the CiteScore list in 2019 to 44th, 25th, 19th, and 13th in 2023. While we decry the current reliance on journal rankings as an indicator of published research quality, we are delighted to see the impact research into accounting education is having, both within the accounting discipline and upon educators in general.
