*Let's talk about insurance Claims* Sometimes insurance companies can be difficult to deal with. They hide behind small print and make decisions relating to a claim that seem to make no sense to me, with 20+ years experience, let alone to a layperson. I'm currently dealing with a claim for a client who had a professional valuation of a property from a RICS surveyor prior to purchasing it. 8 weeks later and they suffered a major loss. However, the insurer is trying to apply the average clause and reduce their claim settlement. Disgusting behaviour in my opinion and I will provide more information on this once we have a satisfactory conclusion. We will not be backing down! On the flip side, most of the insurers we use provide an exceptional level of service. Credit where it is due to GrovesJohnWestrup Private Clients. A client had his Patek Philippe watch stolen whilst away on holiday. Loss reported to the insurer An MS Teams call held between the client and loss adjuster Paperwork proving ownership supplied by the client BACS payment approved Great service and fantastic attitude by the claims team at GJW. Our job is not to sell insurance. As a broker, it is our job to support clients when things don't go to plan. #brokersarebetter #HNW
