In case you didn't see this late last week, Microsoft has committed to 10.5 GWs of new clean energy with Brookfield. Amazing. "Brookfield will deliver wind, solar and “new or impactful carbon free energy generation technologies” to Microsoft between 2026 and 2030. Microsoft will buy more than 10.5 GW of clean energy projects from Brookfield Asset Management and its Brookfield Renewable affiliate to help the technology company run its data centers and other operations on carbon-free power all the time, the companies said Wednesday. “This first of its kind agreement, which is almost eight times larger than the largest single corporate [power purchase agreement] ever signed, is a testament to our ability to reliably deliver clean power solutions at scale to our corporate partners and accelerate the energy transition." These recently deployed solar powered EV systems in Colorado “are an ideal charging infrastructure choice because they are not tied to the grid, which means they require no construction work, electric work or utility bill & therefore reduce cities’ overall costs.
