Egypt and International Leaders Discuss Investment Opportunities and Sustainable Growth Engineer Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, participated in a high-level roundtable meeting with key Egyptian and international officials to discuss crucial economic and investment topics. The meeting was attended by Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, Rami Abu El Naga, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, and Dr. Mohamed Farid, Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority, along with senior executives from Goldman Sachs and representatives from major global financial and development institutions. Key discussion points included global financial challenges and their impacts on emerging markets, with a particular focus on investment opportunities in Egypt. The meeting highlighted promising areas for attracting foreign direct investment, especially in sustainable finance and renewable energy, two pillars of Egypt's strategy for sustainable economic development. After signing the agreement on the new EU-Egypt Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership, the next step in the EU-Egypt relations will be the major Investment Conference that will take place on 29-30 June 2024 in #Cairo. The event will officially be hosted by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The Egyptian General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) and the European Commission / Delegation of the European Union in Egypt are currently working on the detailed program. Up to 1.000 participants are expected from the Egyptian and the European side. Companies considering investment in Egypt might use this Investment Conference for high-level connections with the Egyptian Government.

Egypt seeks to double private investments to 48% by FY2024/25: GAFI CEO Hossam Heiba, CEO of Egypt’s General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), held key meetings with Saudi officials, including Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih and Deputy Minister Ibrahim Al-Mubarak at the 28th International Investment Conference (WIC) in Riyadh. In his conference sessions, Heiba emphasized Egypt’s role as a hub for African investments and outlined government plans to expand private investment to 48% of total investments by FY 2024/2025. He showcased initiatives to develop industrial zones and the Suez Canal Economic Zone, which offers incentives to attract foreign investors.
