Thoughtful observations on misguided attempts to increase productivity by working people even harder from Christopher Lind. Why do we persist in needing to learn this?! It is so ironic that manufacturing companies would not run their machines so hard that there was no time for maintenance or restoration, but they think running their people this hard will result in greater productivity. Especially when new solutions will most likely come from perspective shifts and applying new cognitive frames, which only occur when people get some distance from the problem, some rest, or engagement in non-work activities (e.g. creative pursuits, physical or social activities, travel, … ). Which is simply not possible or likely with just one day a week for personal time.

Yesterday @TD SYNNEX Belgium & Luxembourg Fusion Network event. I had the pleasure of presenting to an amazing audience, sharing insights on how peripherals have evolved from basic connected devices to sophisticated products with advanced integrated technology. It’s clear that having our expertise to implement these technological advancements is fundamental.   Here were the key high lights of my presentation:   1. Building a brand doesn’t happen overnight. For over 40 years, we have consistently delivered quality and innovation, earning the trust of our channel partners and users. 2. Our forged Partnership with Corporate leaders gives us access to cutting-edge technology, enabling us to develop products that meet new needs and enhance user experience. 3. A brand means trust. It’s earned by consistently meeting expectations and understanding user behaviour while designing and developing socially responsible products. 4. Bringing value stems from foundational impacts on brand awareness & equity, quality, sustainability, durability, and innovation. This is what we strive to continually enhance. 5. Our California facilities allow us to take concepts from idea to launch all under one roof.    Some might see this as a list of USPs, but looking forward we must keep illustrating the difference between a unique product and an "imitation''. Last Thursday, I had the opportunity to speak at nextReality.Hamburg e.V.. Together with Dennis Ullner from Grabarz & Partner and Christoph Spinger from Axel Springer, we explored the Apple Vision Pro, discussing its market impact, potential applications, and opportunities. It was intriguing to see the diverse perceptions and everyday uses of the device. I find it particularly astonishing that Chris manages to work entirely with the Vision Pro for three consecutive days. There was a consensus on the technical opportunities and the quality of the Vision Pro. Yet, none of us ventured to predict a definitive future. Looking ahead to next year, it's clear that a mass market for this product is unlikely to develop. This poses a question for companies: should they be first movers in this niche market to target an initially limited and somewhat elite audience? Though not originally designed as such by Apple, from the outset the Vision Pro shows potential as a POS (Point of Sale) tool. This is an opportunity that brands, especially those that cater to highly individualized customer relationships, should consider exploiting. The future continues to be exciting. Samsung Electronics has announced a leadership reshuffle to strengthen its semiconductor business and future competitiveness Key changes include: • Young Hyun Jun becomes CEO and Head of Memory Business and Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology • Jinman Han becomes President and Head of Foundry Business • Seok Woo Nam becomes Chief Technology Officer of Foundry Business • JH Han will lead a new committee focused on product quality • Hansung Ko will lead efforts in finding new growth opportunities • Other changes include appointments in management strategy, global marketing, and business support.

Yesterday, during a mentorship session via ADPList, I met with someone eager to transition into tech, yet they felt hesitant because their background is in biology. To inspire them, I shared the story of Samsung, illustrating how diverse beginnings can lead to success in unexpected fields. When we think of "innovation," it is often linked to specific companies or countries. However, innovation is really about embracing growth and change—elements that are both constant and often spontaneous in our lives. Originally a grocery trading company, it took Samsung 31 years to pivot into the electronics space. Today, they are leaders in a wide array of consumer and industrial electronics, including appliances, digital media devices, semiconductors, memory chips, and integrated systems, making them one of the most recognizable names in technology. I recently came across an infographic detailing Samsung's R&D budget, and it truly wowed me—it also reminded me of Samsung's humble beginnings, which was far from electronics. TL;DR: Start anywhere, with anything. You'll figure it out as you grow. Start afraid, you'll find people that will hold your hand as you go.
