When commissioning a piece of software to help improve and run your business, starting small, testing and iterating is still a great way to do it. It lets you and your team find what works and what doesn't, quickly. Uncovers gaps, issues and areas to make a bigger impact. This beats the alternative of building a "complete solution" only to find 1 week in that half of it wasn't needed. Some things are missing. Some things aren't clear.
In case you are thinking of trying to improve "Flow", start with a model to provide a clear definition, continue to model to see what you can expect from various improvements, then conclude that "Flow" is probably the least valuable, and least measurable dimension of knowledge work to try to improve.
