It's inspiring to see forward-thinking initiatives like Tirlán's new Governance Academy, which is a promising contemporary example of governance excellence in the co-operative sector. Kudos to Olive McCarthy and the team at Centre for Co-operative Studies University College Cork and the Irish Co-operative Organisation Society for their supporting role here. The Governance Academy is a fine example of putting the often neglected 5th Co-operative Principle (education, training and information) into practice, which is vital to retaining a vibrant and diverse pool of future Co-op leaders. By providing tools, knowledge and credentials to their members, Tirlán is not leaving board succession to chance – they are making their own luck! Let's hope more Co-ops and Associations follow Tirlán's lead in investing in their members and building more resilient organisations. #Leadership #Governance #CoopInnovation #FutureLeaders #SustainableGrowth #Tirlán #UCC #ICOS

I’m proud to be a graduate of the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program and love the recognition from Gabe that leaders and program graduates are equally found at the front of the room, at the back of the room and in the middle. Leaders are needed to lead, drive, grow, support, thrive and shine at all levels of an organization, business and community. Want to talk more about AALP? It’s one of my favourite topics.
