By bringing tokenized US Treasury bills (T-bills) to the XRP Ledger Community, OpenEden is bridging the gap between traditional finance and decentralized finance (#DeFi). T-bills are considered one of the safest investments, backed by the U.S. government*, and their tokenization means that these traditional, highly liquid assets are now available on a blockchain. This move reflects the growing trend of integrating traditional financial assets into the decentralized ecosystem and a massive opportunity for builders in the XRPL ecosystem. Tokenizing T-bills on Ripple's native blockchain, the XRP Ledger, will help to enhance liquidity and make these assets more accessible globally. Investors will be able to gain the benefits and yield attributed T-bills more easily and efficiently when compared to more traditional means of access. The global credit rating agency, Moody's Ratings, has awarded an “A” rating to our regulated TBILL fund. This makes the TBILL token the first (and only) tokenized US T-Bill product globally to receive a credit rating in the “investment-grade” quality category. Receiving an 'A' rating from Moody's is a significant milestone for the RWA sector, a monumental attestation in validation for the best-in-class infrastructure that underpins our tokenized T-Bill product. It affirms OpenEden mission in building an RWA primitive for the DeFi ecosystem to access tokenized U.S. Treasury Bills as a source of on-chain yields, alongside a blend of different sources like options strategies, staking, and more. Today, we are partnered with Standard Chartered backed Zodia Custody, Hidden Road, Hex Trust, SCB-backed Rakkar Digital, and many others in making TBILL tokens more readily accessible to corporates, buy-side institutions, and fintech firms.
