It is my personal belief that as an Engineer, you should be diverse in your practice of Engineering. This will enable you to be able solve complex problems across multiple disciplines of engineering.  This belief has help shaped my career and having recently ventured in to the world of Telecommunications, I have achieved a piece of my career goals. Migrating from energy industry to the Telecommunications industry has not been an easy transition but with God, an unwavering sense of commitment, the desire to better the company and myself, and shadowing more experienced colleagues, all encountered hurdles as of now have been overcome and so will future ones.  Treat every problem as an opportunity to learn and better yourself. Never be afraid of failure and as the saying goes “ Failure is a fog through which we glimpse success”. You will definitely succeed if you keep trying  #engineering #telecommunications 

This may be controversial but I do not know if it should be. When we as a society and more specifically in the power industry think about education what do we really mean? It seems that the longer I work. The more we have conflated education with capability. Many power industry job postings will require a degree usually an engineering degree, but the actual tasks on the job are really not engineering specific. For example to evaluate planned transmission outages the skills that serve someone well are pattern recognition, logical reasoning, the ability to test and validate multiple hypotheses and great communication / negotiation skills. However, at many companies an engineering degree is required or preferred for these roles. Does that mean an engineer can not be successful no but the skills you learn in school are not the same as for this particular job. Who does this stance regarding degrees as a gatekeeper impact? Many people in the industry who could do this type of work. If we are serious about inclusion then let's start talking about correlating job description requirements to a job's tasks. I have hired my share of non-traditional folks for "engineer" roles and have rarely been disappointed in fact they are often the leaders once on the team. #education #stem #powergrid #nerc #powergeneration #transmission #energymarkets #onthejobtraining

It’s been 3 years of amazing Engineering experience in the Energy sector. Key lessons learned - Patience is key in all levels of skill acquisition. - Acquire all the knowledge you can, helps a lot during troubleshooting even in real life problems. - In the end a product has to be delivered no matter the inconveniences and challenges. - Specialisation is important in the early career days. - Always show up never give up. - Live it love it. #Marvins3yearsinengineering.

Innovative industries like #cleanhydrogen face significant workforce challenges, particularly in filling skill gaps. Plans for seven hydrogen hubs across 16 states aim to create over 324,000 direct jobs, with long-term strategies in place to tackle these issues. Immediate efforts involve starting up 3.6 GW of electrolyzer capacity in 2024, generating around 12,000 #infrastructure development jobs and 1,600 permanent operational positions. However, there is already a shortage of workers with essential #skills such as electrical engineering and computer science. Additionally, the training pipeline from higher education institutions may not fully meet demand in some host states, highlighting potential #talent supply challenges. Traffic Lights Control System Example: Illustrating the concept, a traffic lights control system functions based on time intervals. Input signals dictate the activation of one of three lights, demonstrating how the input controls the output. Classification of Control Systems: Control systems are categorized based on parameters such as time, input-output configuration, and feedback presence.
