If we overemphasize talent, we underemphasize everything else. However, the evidence would suggest that ‘effort’ is at least as important. Talent – how fast we improve in skill – absolutely matters. But effort factors into the calculations twice, not once. Effort builds skill. At the very same time, effort makes skill productive. Effort is the catalyst to achievement. - GRIT: The Power of Passion and Perseverance

Ever wonder how pilgrims or merchants in medieval times travelled great distances on paths made dangerous by thieves and brigands? Back then, a traveller had to carry a lot of coins or gold to pay for food and lodging, so safety was a big problem. I found an answer: the Knights Templar. They devised a financial solution that is still in use today. https://lnkd.in/gsGjk2cX #banking #financialservices #historyofbanking #history #Templars

The first officially chartered Black-owned bank, True Reformers Bank, was founded on March 2, 1888, by the Rev. William Washington Browne. A former slave and Union Army officer, Browne was the founder of the Grand Fountain United Order of True Reformers fraternal organization. Today there are 148 minority-owned financial institutions in the United States. Taken together, they have approximately $349 billion in assets in total. Of these, 23 are Black-owned banks. Black-owned banks provide customers not only access to the financial resources they need but also the chance to invest in the financial health and well-being of their community. https://lnkd.in/eqp_B6ss Spoke about the three key issues regarding Bank of America and one additional issue regarding fake transactions with merchant side through Bank of America. Started from 3 minutes after recording. Recorded from 9am to 9:20am Dec 14th Sat 2024. 1) Account closure not informed to me after BoA closed my accounts from their side and after I put close to one million USD in these accounts since opening accounts in year 2015 and after these money were stolen completely in large part. 2) Online banking statements were already deleted in Nov 2023 last year even before account closure and normally as common sense online banking statements are of course still available after accounts closure because I was not informed in advance by BoA at all for its own intents to close the accounts. 3) Also Bank of America said that they have mailed letter to explain why they need to close the accounts to my aunt's home and my residence registered with BoA, but these letters are not given to me by my aunt's family members when I saw them few days ago. 3) I heard from BoA customer service that several credit cards which I never asked to be issued have already been issued. So I also do not get these credit cards mailed to my residence registered with BoA which is also my aunt's address. I could have used other family members and relatives and friends's addresses in each different cities, but due to block of communication from hackers and government which caused me not able to reach anybody, I had to register my Las Vegas aunt addres with Bank of America, but now I found that my Las Vegas aunt have just been used for all these crimes.

Brian Lee, president and CEO of Landings Credit Union, used to be an NCUA regulator. Among the lessons he learned along the way is that regulators shouldn’t use a one size fits all approach, "and we shouldn’t be afraid to be unique and creative in how we serve our members."
