Today is World Sight Day, a day that focuses the world’s attention on the importance of eye care to ensure eye care is accessible, inclusive and affordable to everyone, everywhere. The focus of this year’s campaign is to encourage workplaces to have the vision of their employees checked. Because clear, healthy vision improves productivity, prevents workplace injury and improves employee wellbeing. Most of us will experience eye health issues at some point, but globally, over 1 billion people do not have access to eye care services – and this is not ok!
