Our team had a ball at the San Diego Wave Fútbol Club game on Friday! It was a great opportunity to connect with the communities we serve. We were able to share a bit about how San Diego Community Power is powering the San Diego region with cleaner energy and hand out some #sustainable swag that can help keep San Diego clean and green.

So, this weekend, we decided to mix things up as a family and took the girls to their first-ever football match. I thought catching Forest Green Rovers (who are currently at the bottom of Division 2) playing against MK Dons (looking at automatic promotion) would be a bit of a laugh. The real clincher for the girls? quality pies! So, off we trotted. I've been interested in following Forest Green Rovers Football Club ever since I started tuning in to Dale Vince's awesome podcast, which you can find if you google Zerocarbonista (its a great 30 minute listen on environmental news) I liked being able to root for a club that stands for something, like refusing to plaster gambling ads all over the place. Also I get my electricity from Ecotricity. Top-notch service, supporting renewables – can't go wrong there The only downside of the day? Well, besides the not-so-great score (we lost 0-2 after a stupid mistake) and the fact that there were no pies left at halftime – seriously, what a travesty! Despite that, the vibe of grassroots football was unbeatable. Just a good time all around. Why am I even bother sharing this on LinkedIn? I just want to highlight the incredible work that Ecotricity and Dale Vince are doing. They're proving that you can run a successful business, make a profit, and still create a positive impact on climate change and society as a whole. I do find it inspiring. These billion-pound football clubs seem more interested in squeezing every last penny out of their fans and society, giving very little back. They add nothing of any consequence to our lives despite the power and influence they wield, these guys at FGR are leading by example showing that there's a better way to do things If Forest Green Rovers stay up I may have to buy us all a season ticket…

This week is International Compost Awareness Week! Compost is becoming a popular waste minimization technique for sports venues, and we have the data to prove it! 😉 63% of SSI participants collect compostable materials separately, even though only 24% are required by laws/regulations. However, we still have some work to do. A phenomenon we call the 'Compost Conundrum' has been trending for the past two years in our survey. 71% of SSI participants are taking the step to procure compostable serviceware, but only 35% of those participants offer fan-facing compostable waste bins. Sports venues are not expected to face infrastructure and awareness challenges across the US alone. They can, however, be part of the solution! Join the conversation by sharing your favorite composting tips below! 👇 #Compost #ICAW #SustainableSport #Sustainability

With almost 200 entrants taking part in Race The Machine in 2024, it is a pleasure to write that the Summer Challenge for Cool Earth is now open for entries! https://lnkd.in/ecwvkhCE This innovative event sets personal time targets for three distances: 1km, 4km, and 8km. Traditional running events generate a lot of waste (think cheap medals and t-shirts) and often involve travel. Challenge yourself in June, July, & August without the carbon footprint – no mementos, no travel, just pure fun, motivation, healthy competition, and genuine satisfaction. All proceeds from the Summer Challenge to Cool Earth - they support communities to protect the best carbon-storing technology that already exists: rainforest. Together this summer, we’ll challenge ourselves, raise awareness, and hopefully do some good along the way. #racethemachine #keepchasing #running #runningmotivation #coolearth #climatechange #climatecrisis #sustainablerunning

Why Wait for Change? Let's Drive It Together. 🌍✨ In a time when waiting for change feels like standing still, why not take the wheel and steer towards a sustainable future ourselves? This Sunday, and every Sunday following, our team at One Existence is laying the groundwork for a change that matters. Our mission? Transform the 10 freeway in Southern California's Inland Empire into a beacon of community effort and environmental responsibility. With hands dedicated to clearing the litter and hearts aimed at inspiring others, we're not just cleaning highways — we're paving the way for a new kind of community initiative. A cleaner freeway is just the beginning. Our vision extends to cleaner cities, oceans, and ultimately, a cleaner world. But to get there, we need your eyes, your hands, and your spirit. Seeing is believing, they say. So if you catch us in action along the 10 freeway, don't just pass by. Take a moment to record our effort and share it with the world. Your support isn't just appreciated; it's critical in spreading this message of positive change far and wide. Together, let's make every Sunday more than just a day of rest. Let's make it a day of action, progress, and hope. Because when we join forces as one existence committed to betterment — there's no limit to what we can achieve. #CleanerWorld #TakeAction #OneExistence
