🌟 In our Teacher Retention Survey, we heard that a negative impact on teachers' well-being is trying to manage their workload. With the myriad of tasks that can bog them down, we believe in "Giving Back Time!" 🎤 We asked school leaders what some of their strategies to support teachers with this are. This is what we heard back: ⏰ With the many to do's that bog down our teachers we "Give Back Time!" We find time to give back to our teachers during staff meetings and extra coverage with permanent substitutes. We also provide a space to provide input on how we can lessen the load and make adjustments as needed! When our teachers are okay, our students are okay! It's a ripple effect! ❤️ ✏️ We assign an interventionist and a copy clerk to every teacher. 📅 We give back to our staff through time. Looking to map out the days we have to accomplish our professional learning calendars while looking for days to schedule in teacher accountability days. The last PLC of every quarter is a team day for teachers and students during the day and then their teacher task is to have grade submitted. If that task is done before that day. Then that day is for them to use as they wish. Why add more to their plate when their plate is already so full of our students daily needs. Our teachers rock! Admin- we know that teacher retention is a major problem in our industry right now, especially among our new teachers. As we enter into the beginning of the school year, let's take this opportunity to assess our site readiness and support for our new teachers.
