Don't lie to me. When I ask you if you've already applied to a firm or been submitted by any other recruiters, and you tell me no, and then you give me written permission to submit you to the firm, what's the last thing I expect the firm to tell me? That you've already been submitted by multiple recruiters!!! While that might ding my reputation a little, it hurts you more than it hurts me. Here's why: • Firms hate fee fights and they don't want to get stuck between recruiters arguing over who gets paid. • It makes you look disorganized and desperate. You should know who you're applying to and who's representing you. • Firms will almost always reject attorneys who have been submitted more than once. Just don't do it. Be upfront and honest.
