Joe Fox: What about tricking 25 million NBA fans into believing that a basketball arena in downtown Phoenix is under attack from mythical beasts, live on ESPN? Ricky: I’m listening…. Our stunt, which aired during the Suns v Warriors game, was voiced by Richard Jefferson, the ESPN commentator on the night. He watched in disbelief as a portal unleashed chaos outside of the Footprint Center in Phoenix, with the audience hearing the drama unfold as it happened. Launching a new AAA game franchise relies on creating big disruptive moments that can grab the attention of an audience that stretches far beyond the gaming world. We wanted to make a statement that VR has arrived. Huge shoutouts go to our partners at Meta, Method Studios, ESPN, National Basketball Association (NBA) and of course our incredible team at BBDO New York for making this ‘a reality’. I decided to introduce a new section on my account "Lives of remarkable people". I'm going to tell you about the cool people around me. Yesterday I had breakfast with Anton Zhdanov, the founder of the 360 Max VR theater chain. Anton is one of the pioneers in the field of VR-movie production, and now they are building a network of specialized spaces where anyone can watch a movie in a new format. The guys are forming a new niche, and it was interesting to hear about their experience in this field and discuss the future development of VR-industry and cinemas. It's always interesting to talk to pioneers who are creating unique things, and learn about their experience firsthand. By the way, do you watch movies in 360°?
