!!! Experienced NGS Data Analyst and Bioinformatician Seeking Employment !!! Looking for a staff/full-time position in which I can utilize my bioinformatics skills to assist researchers and/or clinicians to perform meaningful and powerful analyses and ultimately drive their research forward. Open to opportunities in academia, industry, or government. Summary of Skills: NGS Data Analysis: Over 7 years of hands-on experience analyzing a myriad of NGS datasets (both mouse and human in origin) including whole genome sequencing (WGS) and whole exome sequencing (WES), RNAseq, ChIPseq, ATACseq, RIPseq (RNA immunoprecipitation followed by sequencing), and sequencing data generated from 3D-genome confirmation assays such as HiC and ChIA-PET. Also heavily experienced using genomic data visualization tools like IGV and the UCSC Genome Browser. Coding/Pipeline Construction: Over 5 years of coding experience in a variety of languages including R, Python, UNIX/Linux, Bash, AWK, and SED - both writing original scripts for analysis and utilizing previously published software packages (such as DESeq, Samtools, ggplot2, Deeptools, BWA, Bioconda, numpy, etc). Also experienced writing computational pipelines for bulk data analysis such as a comprehensive pipeline for analysis of spike-in normalized ChIPseq data (from raw files to visualizations) for the Dowen Lab at UNC, which is still routinely used in their lab. Experienced with documenting code and pipeline construction locally and in GitHub. Data Migration: Experienced with both local and cloud based data migration and storage, including extensive work with the online file transfer system Globus as well as experience with data storage on Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 system. I am also experienced with local server storage and organization from my time at UNC and the NIEHS. As a part of my role at BioSkryb, I routinely helped to securely transfer data from around the globe for the purpose of bioinformatics analysis. Communication/Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and extensive experience interacting with international scientific teams to achieve research goals. A chief part of my role at BioSkryb Genomics included leading bioinformatics training sessions both for internal teams and international clients. Many of these clients had little to no genomics background, making effective communication essential for a productive meeting. If you think my skillset is a good fit for a role you're aware of, please let me know!
