At Stokes Law, we understand that pets are cherished family members. When creating your Will, it's crucial to include a clause for your pet's care, as pets are considered property under Alberta law. If you don't specify your wishes, your pet's future could be uncertain, potentially ending up in an animal shelter. You can designate a caregiver for your pet in your Will and provide compensation to cover their needs, such as food and veterinary care. It's important to discuss this with the chosen caregiver to ensure compatibility and shared views on your pet's well-being. For assistance in preparing your Will to ensure your pet is well cared for, contact Stokes Law for a free consultation. #StokesLaw #PetsinWill #PetInheritance #WillsandEstates

🐶🚫 Fleas Beware! 🚫🐾 As a pet lover and advocate for animal welfare, I want to shed some light on a topic that's often overlooked: fleas on dogs. 🦟 Fleas not only cause discomfort for our furry friends but can also pose serious health risks if left untreated. From skin irritation to potential transmission of diseases, the consequences of a flea infestation can be detrimental to our beloved companions. As responsible pet owners, it's crucial to stay vigilant and proactive in preventing and treating fleas. Regular grooming, using flea preventatives recommended by veterinarians, and keeping our pets' environment clean are just a few ways to combat these pesky parasites. Let's prioritize the well-being of our canine companions by staying informed and taking action against fleas. Together, we can ensure our dogs live happy, healthy, and flea-free lives! 🐶💪 #PetHealth #FleaPrevention #DogLovers

I am writing to bring attention to the alarming issue of pet abandonment caused by the exorbitant costs and overwhelming stress of the animal industry. As an animal lover and concerned citizen, I am deeply troubled by the devastating consequences of this crisis. The animal industry has become increasingly commercialized, prioritizing profits over animal welfare. The result is a system that burdens pet owners with unaffordable expenses, from exorbitant veterinary bills to costly supplies and services. This financial strain often leads to heartbreaking decisions, as families are forced to abandon their beloved pets. Moreover, the industry's emphasis on profit margins creates an environment of intense stress and pressure, affecting both animals and their owners. The constant pressure to keep up with the latest trends and products can be overwhelming, causing many to feel guilty or inadequate if they cannot provide the "perfect" life for their pets. I urge you to consider the following: - Support affordable veterinary care and pet services - Promote adoption and rescue programs - Encourage responsible pet ownership education - Advocate for animal welfare policies Together, we can create a more compassionate and sustainable animal industry that prioritizes the well-being of both animals and their human caregivers. Sincerely,

This is a huge problem: Access to Care, for all pet owners. Here in El Paso County, we have commissioners that recognize that healthy pets = healthier citizens and safer communities. We are sponsoring veterinarians who have graduated from a foreign university and are paying for the certification courses required through the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association). Once the veterinarians become licensed in the State of Texas, they sign a 3-year contract to work at the County pet wellness clinic. Win-win. El Paso County Wouldn't it be incredibly progressive if the BIG 501 animal welfare agencies collaborated together and sponsored foreign veterinarians to get licensed here in the USA? Place them where they are needed the most. Want to reduce ending the lives of pets at shelters across our nation? Create more no-cost and low-cost clinics. ASPCA The Humane Society of the United States Best Friends Animal Society Win-win.

🐾 Pet Safety Reminder 🐾 Today, we had a firsthand experience that highlights the importance of pet safety. At Vet Leghari Animal Hospital, we successfully removed a needle that had been ingested by a cat. Thankfully, the procedure went well, and the cat is now on the road to recovery. This incident is a critical reminder to all pet owners: Please keep small and dangerous objects out of reach of your furry friends. Cats and dogs can be curious and may accidentally ingest items that can cause serious harm. A few tips to help prevent such incidents: Keep sewing kits, needles, and other sharp objects securely stored away. Ensure that small household items like rubber bands, buttons, and other small objects are not left lying around. Supervise your pets when they’re playing with toys, especially if the toys have small parts that can be swallowed. Let’s all take steps to ensure our pets are safe and healthy! 🐾 #PetSafety #VetCare #PetAwareness #ResponsiblePetOwnership #VeterinaryCare
