Reflecting on ‘Solace of the Sea’ My exhibition 'Solace of the Sea' was a deeply moving experience, which successfully encouraged reflection and connection. It resonated profoundly with visitors, sparking meaningful conversations about baby loss. The space became a safe haven for sharing, bringing awareness to a little talked about subject. As the artist, my paintings were described by visitors as beautiful, full of love, and gentle, each one emphasising the inseparable bond between a mother and her baby, at whatever stage there was loss. The collaboration with Tulip Mazumdar and her heartfelt words enhanced the emotional depth of the experience, creating something truly powerful. Sands - baby loss charity played a vital role, offering befrienders for emotional support at the talk and private view. The exhibition also raised awareness for organisations like Tommy's and the Miscarriage Association, amplifying its reach to those affected by baby loss. This exhibition marks the beginning of a journey. We hope these works will continue to travel, opening doors for more conversations, reflection, and healing.
