Psychologically interesting how Air New Zealand is responding to increased arrival and departure fees from our domestic airports. No direct attack just the money mention which should get people going and distancing Air NZ from the cost. Very clever Air New Zealand.

Travelling can be complex, and the rules protecting air travellers are complicated. CAA is stepping up by providing Canadians with the information they need when things go wrong. CAA, a longstanding advocate for the travelling public, just launched an easy-to-use guide to help air travellers navigate the rules when they run into problems such as flight delays, cancellations, lost bags and getting bumped from a flight. Canada has had federal rules governing air passenger rights for several years now, but they are complicated and long, running to over 60 pages. CAA’s Air Passenger Help Guide provides a plain-language guide that answers questions about the most common flight disruptions in five clicks or less. Air travellers wondering what, if anything, the airlines owe them can consult our guide for help. #AirPassengerHelp Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gQDtV_XG

The Nine Freedoms of the Air grant airlines significant latitude in international operations, but their implementation involves nuanced considerations and constraints. For instance, the ninth freedom permits airlines to operate within a foreign country's borders, yet this freedom, along with others, is governed by bilateral agreements. These agreements, intricate and time-consuming to negotiate, dictate the extent of air travel freedoms between nations. Additionally, airlines must navigate a web of regulatory requirements, including route approvals and air traffic control regulations, further shaping their flight paths. Economic viability also weighs heavily on route decisions, with factors like passenger demand and operating costs influencing choices. In essence, while the freedoms offer flexibility, operational realities and regulatory frameworks impose limits, necessitating careful planning and compliance. #NineFreedomsOfFlight #AviationRegulations #AirTravelConstraints

NZ Herald Premium | The domestic airfare market has been ranked New Zealand’s least competitive, trailing supermarkets, banks and petrol companies. A Horizon Research survey found that 75 per cent of respondents considered the domestic aviation market — overwhelmingly dominated by Air New Zealand — to be the least competitive. Airports, at loggerheads with Air NZ over aeronautical pricing, say the survey backs their claims that the national carrier is using its market dominance to push up prices. Grant Bradley reports. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gVQUVT9y
