Sir Terence David John Pratchett was an English author, humorist, and satirist. He once said, “The first draft is just you telling yourself the story.” If I could get new authors to understand this one thing, it would reduce so much of their angst. See, the manuscript doesn't have to be perfect on the first submission... and just because it has to go through a few revisions doesn't mean that you haven't done a good job.
