What we see a lot: communities working very hard and allocating a lot of resources (time, lots of money, etc.) to collecting data for a health assessment and then developing the improvement plan… but then NOT implementing or carrying out the improvement plan! I know that this is because of lack of staff capacity, not enough time, lack of processes, lack of funding (and NOT because people don’t want to make those improvements or have the desire to see them completed). This is just something to be aware of and to talk about. We are trying to do our best to support our clients to reduce the above barriers and help communities be more successful and carry out their improvement plan for their community. See the video below where I talk about this. (Feel free to share your thoughts and other ways that could help reduce this issue of not carrying out the improvement plan…)
The key to achieving improved health outcomes in your community is not just creating an IMPROVEMENT PLAN, but making sure it is IMPLEMENTED🌟 If implementation was straightforward, it would happen every time, but the fact is there are many players involved in achieving improved health outcomes in a community, and the process is NOT easy. At Moxley Public Health we are experienced in the process of taking knowledge to action - listen to our CEO Stephanie Moxley talk about strategies we use to support our clients in successful implementation post CHNA/CHIP development in the video below and DOING THE STRATEGIES of the IMPROVEMENT PLAN ⬇️

Public health matters more than you know and I'm so glad to see the story of it put on display through this PBS Docu-Series! Before getting into the field, I certainly took it for granted. "The Invisible Shield examines how public health makes modern life possible, but it is underfunded, undervalued, and misunderstood putting our health at risk." Check it out here! https://lnkd.in/djtUArKc

We all know that public health is more than addressing illness—it’s about creating systems that empower communities to thrive. As the CEO of HELP Solutions, I’m passionate about reducing health disparities through innovative strategies, meaningful partnerships, and community-driven solutions. Over the past 17 years, I’ve learned that real change starts when we listen to communities and use data to drive equity. What steps do you think are essential for achieving health equity or ways you work with the community?
