UI/UX Designer at AtoZeeSolutions | Top UX Research Voice | LinkedIn Creator | Open For Collaboration
Companies, Stop Demanding Superheroes. Companies, it's time for a reality check. Recent job postings, like the one demanding a UI/UX designer with expertise in graphic design, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and video editing, are unrealistic. While a broad skill set is beneficial, expecting mastery in every area is counterproductive. We struggle to find top-tier UI/UX designers because we're still treating the role like a catch-all for creative tasks. Let's focus on hiring specialists who excel in their core competencies. We can build stronger teams and create better products by valuing and recognizing specific skills. It's time to shift our mindset. Let's hire smart by setting realistic job expectations. #StopExpectingSuperhumans #UIUXDesign #DesignSpecialization #HiringBestPractices #RealisticJobExpectations #JobMarketRealities

If you’re looking for a Graphic Designer, please know what a Graphic Designer is. They are not everything. They are specialists. I’m reposting a comment: 1. Graphic Designers focus on creating static visuals, branding, and layout designs. 2. Animators bring characters and scenes to life through movement. 3. 3D Artists build detailed three-dimensional models and environments. 4. Motion Graphic Designers combine visual effects, animation, and graphic design to create dynamic visuals. 5. UX/UI Designers enhance user interactions with intuitive, aesthetically pleasing interfaces.

Here's another main menu I made while studying at university. This one was for my team's second-year project 'Freeflight', a relaxing flight-based collectathon! In the spirit of critical reflection, I wanted to highlight some reasons I think it worked, but also some reasons it didn't: 1. Motion ➕ - The rotating sky island, stylised wind effects, camera movement, and background glider all contribute to a feeling of motion within the scene. A menu doesn't need to be a static screen, and one of the best ways to avoid this is to add some simple moving parts! 2. Low settings readability ➖ - I feel that the text in the settings panels is unnecessarily difficult to read by the presence of the wind particle system beneath it. This could have been easily remedied by having the text and the wind have different colours, or even just by making the panels opaque. Novelty in UI should not be favoured over readability/accessibility! 3. Negative space ➕ - The foreground was kept to an intentionally minimalistic design to allow for lots of breathing room between UI elements. It also subtly conveys theming in the game - Freeflight is a game with lots of negative space to allow for fun traversal, so it makes sense that the main menu would follow suit! 4. Bugs ➖ - When developing this menu, I was still finding my footing with C# programming and ran into some bugs while working with PlayerPrefs (the class that stores values across play sessions) not saving player settings properly. This is why the audio displays the incorrect value of '1' in the video. Unfortunately, we ran out of time to fix this bug so it remains in the final build. While, retrospectively, there is a lot I would improve here, I'm still happy with how it turned out. Creating this menu system taught me a lot about UI design practices, and was probably the project that made me realise how much I enjoy thinking about UI/UX! The Reality of Today’s Job Market These days, we often see large departments, but it’s usually just one person doing multiple jobs. We hear people saying they have skills in UI design, graphic design, animation, and video editing—but can one person truly master all of these? 🤔 The reality is, if you don’t have multiple skills, companies may not even consider you. But UI/UX alone is a massive field. How can a graphic designer also be a UI/UX designer and an animator at the same time? It’s time to think about how we’re approaching this. Are we expecting too much? . . . . . . . . #JobMarketReality #MultipleSkills #UIUX #GraphicDesign #WorkplaceChallenges #HiringTrends

It would be a great to have the option to search my connections by job title. I’m not going to remember first and last names of every UX designer, 3D animator, etc, etc… in my network. If I receive an email from a recruiter for a role that’s not in my bag, I’d love to quickly search my connections for people that fit, so that I can refer to them. First or last name seems to be the only way to search or filter your own network. If this already exists, please tell me where to find it. #linkedin #features #filters #linkedinsuggestions #ux #userexperience #recruiters

Hey y'all! 🌟 Wanted to share some thoughts on job applications, specifically in the UI/UX world. 🎨💻 Lately, I've been seeing a lot of postings looking for a "UI/UX unicorn" – someone who can do it all. 🦄 But honestly, I've started to doubt these kinds of ads. Hear me out! Creative folks, especially those with Fine Arts diplomas, might lost in flows, mapping, and digital architecture. On the flip side, designers strong in UX might get a bit lost in the world of UI and illustrations. I know, I know – creativity has no limits! 🚀 But let's be real and break down these job postings a bit. I've found myself trusting ads that ask for separate UX specialists UI visual designers, illustrators, or 3D/2D artists. It just makes more sense to me. 🤔 Creative people are like Swiss Army knives, but job hunting is easier when roles are a bit more specific. 🧩 What's your take on this? How do you approach job applications in the UI/UX field? 🗣️ #UIUX #DesignTalk #CreativityUnleashed
