BUTCHERS CREEK GOLD PROJECT ACQUISITION 🔸#WIN set to acquire the Butchers Creek Gold Project (formerly Palm Springs Gold Project) in the Kimberley region of Western Australia from Meteoric Resources NL via a tenement sale agreement. 🔸Butchers Creek has an existing Mineral Resource Estimate of 5.6Mt @ 2.0g/t Au for 357,000oz of #gold and a production history of 52,000oz of gold between 1995-1997. 🔸Reconnaissance field trip completed in July, confirmed high-grade rock chip samples up to 22.4g/t Au. 🔸RC #drilling commenced in September 2024, targeting Butchers Creek Infill, Butchers Creek Far South Extension, Mt Bradley and Golden Crown. CORPORATE 🔸Firm commitments received for a A$3.6 million conditional placement to new and existing sophisticated and professional investors at A$0.025 per share. 🔸Divestment agreement with Auric Mining Ltd for nickel, lithium and other associated metal rights within the Munda Gold Project and other assets completed for initial proceeds of $1.2 million. 🔸WIN Metals Ltd changed its name from Widgie Nickel Limited effective from 1 July 20241, the name change reflects the Company’s multi commodity portfolio and its focus on critical metals. Rumble Resources Ltd (ASX:RTR, OTC:RTRFF) has kicked off reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling to test several high-grade #gold targets and follow-up historical high-grade intersections at the Western Queen South and Duke prospects of the Western Queen Gold Project in Western Australia. The Western Australian project previously returned very high-grade results of up to 4 metres at 49.73 g/t gold from 134 metres and 17 metres at 5.7 g/t gold from 221 metres at Western Queen South, and 8 metres at 26.27 g/t gold from 14 metres as well as 7 metres at 60.60 g/t gold from 70 metres at Duke. Historical production consisted of 880,000 tonnes at 7.6 g/t gold for 215,000 ounces, and the project retains a mineral resource estimate (MRE) of 2.1 million tonnes at 2.42 g/t gold for 163,200 ounces of contained gold. We can’t “afford” dry stack or alternative tailings, but we can afford $18b for one tailings dam failure. The dams will continue to fail, and the liability is 100% going to end up with the companies. The dry stack solutions would be insanely cheap if rational risk were priced into the equation. The Samarco dam owned by BHP and Vale was small(ish), and still cost $18b to settle the failure risk. One of my Ph.D. goals was to write a risk value model for dam failures, the rational insurance premium required to carry the risk. I never got that done, but I am starting to see the market price and the risk, and the size of the settlements is staggering. Over the next two years, there will likely be enough settlements to price this risk, and then the question is whether IFRS will change how they mark the real liability on the mining company's balance sheets. https://lnkd.in/g7BTCwKF

**#Yukon officials detect #cyanide in waterways near Victoria Gold Corp.'s mine** - The Yukon Government in Canada confirmed elevated cyanide levels in a waterway near Victoria Gold’s Eagle Mine following an equipment failure and landslide. - Yukon Mining Minister John Streicker indicated the detected cyanide concentrations in a nearby creek could potentially affect fish. - Victoria Gold reported no elevated cyanide levels downstream of the mine, stating they established a #pumping system and diversion systems to manage water and material within hours of the incident. - Operations at the Eagle Mine were halted due to a heap leach failure, and the company has received default notices from lenders under a 2020 credit agreement. - The Eagle Mine, part of Victoria Gold’s Dublin Gulch Property in central Yukon, produces gold from a conventional open-pit operation and includes a three-stage crushing plant and gold recovery facilities. #mining #mineralprocessing #mineralexploration

#ASXNews PolarX Limited is pleased to provide its March 2024 Quarterly Activities Report. #PXX's updated scoping study for Caribou Dome and Zackly was released in January 2024, which delivered boosted projected economic returns: • Pre-Tax NPV7 doubled from A$310M to A$625M. • Pre-Tax IRR increased from 38.6% to 73.9%. • Mine Life EBITDA increased from A$882M to A$1,269M. • Average annual free cashflow over 9.5 years mining increased from A$82m to A$120M. 83% of the material proposed to be mined falls in the Measured and Indicated resource categories. Comminution testing indicates that the mineralisation at Caribou Dome is moderately soft, and the flotation recoveries were achieved at a coarser primary grind sizes requiring less energy than in previous test-work.
