As far as Japanese #literature and #films are concerned, they've always combined drama and surrealism with an underlying message. Ryu Murakami is one of the few authors to take on film direction. The best-known works of Ryu Murakami are his novels, short stories, essays, and #cinematography. His novels include Almost Transparent Blue, Audition, Coin Locker Babies, and In the Miso Soup, which explore human nature through themes of disillusionment, drug abuse, surrealism, murder, and war. A horror movie called Audition is based on his novel. He's directed some of his other books, including Almost Transparent Blue and All Right, My Friend.

In Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, there is a scene at the restaurant where Jules schools Pumpkin about life while pointing a gun at him. I hope you remember the scene. The scene is memorable because of its superb dialogue. Tarantino poured his heart out to write the dialogue of Pulp Fiction. So, what is good dialogue and how it can transform a film? Dialogue is a collection of many things but in this post, I'll talk about how good dialogue can develop your characters. Good dialogue is what they say, or what they don't say. Whether they use fancy words or simple colloquial words. Everything your characters say reveals who they are as persons. The scene from Pulp Fiction I mentioned above reveals who Jules is despite being a gangster.
