Further preliminary design for 3 houses in Stratford, London. I’ve never quite been able to lose the pleasure to be found in looking at a windowless facade, especially those examples that veer towards the monumental. Hence my (and I suspect many others too) fascination with Georgian end of terrace blind window facades and the work of Hans Poelzig, as one important example. Preliminary façade to sit behind an existing listed Georgian garden wall in East London, alongside a busy road.

NEW CASE STUDY | CURRIES YARD The project specification had three main requirements: 1. Improve the thermal performance of the property portfolio for Dumfries & Galloway Housing Partnership. 2. Achieve a wall design with a U-value of 0.14W/m²K, that could be incorporated into the Off-Site Manufacturing (OSM) portfolio. 3. Enhance the domestic architecture which seeks to explore familiar vernacular forms and elements to create a recognisable suburban place that is aesthetically pleasing and fits in with the surrounding landscape. The K Systems Aricco system, with a dash render finish for the supporting façades, was specified as a contemporary, high-quality alternative to traditional brick or render finishes. The dash finish offers the highest level of weather durability and impact resistance for façade systems, allowing the architect to achieve a modern aesthetic while retaining a respected, traditional look for the homes. This solution could be seamlessly integrated into the advanced off-site construction technologies delivered by CCG (Scotland) Ltd. Aricco is the most compatible choice for offsite/modular construction techniques. Bridge House, Uxbridge, was our fastest installation ever - 62 balconies in a single day - here's how we did it. ⏰ Understanding the logistical and structural constraints of the busy urban area, Sapphire Balconies proposed a solution that would not only respect the building’s architectural integrity but also streamline the installation process. Opting for lightweight aluminium balconies, Sapphire facilitated the addition of outdoor spaces with minimal connections required, thereby preserving the building’s façade and reducing the load on the structure. Sapphire's approved installer, D&A, executed the ambitious plan flawlessly, achieving a record-breaking installation of 62 balconies in just one day. The momentum continued into the second day, with the remaining 48 balconies installed, culminating in a total of 110 balconies fitted in merely two days.
