On Sept. 11th, let's remember all we did as a nation to fill our blood banks, to support our injured, to give of ourselves in the most tangible way.
The Blood Banks still need you, your fellow Americans still need you, this country still needs you.
We may feel broken, we may feel at odds with one another, we may feel insecure about what to say & how to communicate, we may be feeling uncertain about our future, but we are all in this together & if we look around, we may just begin to realize our neighbors, our colleagues, our local coffee baristas, our bank tellers, our librarians, everyone is feeling the same way. We are more alike than we are different.
But if we can rely on each other for a cup of sugar, an egg, a story, a smile on a gloomy day, and blood in those vital moments of crisis like we did on 9/11, lining up for hours making sure our banks were full, we can make a future for this country!
Please consider making an appointment with your local Red Cross. You never know who you might be saving.
*Also consider the bone marrow registry & becoming an organ donor. (living donors are important too!!)
