In this video presentation I have prepared, I navigated the topic of what philanthropy truly is. By distinguishing it from charity, and speaking upon its main components: time, talent, and treasure. By removing misconceptions, the presentation emphasizes on how philanthropy works in the long-term, contrasting it with the charity, and its short term effect. The three T’s symbolize the essence of philanthropy. Throughout the video I also delve into the motivations behind giving. Speaking upon and exploring extrinsic and intrinsic values, highlighting and differentiating how they both work. Also, I depict personal growth and knowledge of all I have learned from the course and other nonprofits, particularly the impactful Give Miami organization. I hope to one day in the future become a philanthropic leader, through the use of my time, treasure, and talent.
